Legacy Spotlight: Josh Moreno
For Josh Moreno, choosing Desert Heights for his three children meant returning to a place that helped shape who he is today.
Josh attended Desert Heights from 3rd through 8th grade, back when our Charter campus served students through middle school. His memories include traditions some longtime Coyotes may recognize turning Mr. Jiles into an ice cream sundae, PE with Coach Blackburn, and spending time around the “fishbowl.” 🐺
But what stayed with him most was the impact of his teachers.
"The teachers were all very determined to see us succeed... Desert Heights provided me more than just an education; it laid a foundation of life lessons and started my professional journey."
Years later, Josh chose Desert Heights for his own children, Zane, Luke, and Malia, hoping they would experience that same combination of high expectations, personal support, and a community invested in their success.
Today, he gets to watch them create their own Desert Heights memories from friendships and recess to projects they're excited to come home and talk about.
When asked to describe Desert Heights in three words, Josh chose: Embracing. Conscientious. Principled.
From one generation of Coyotes to the next, we're grateful to have the Moreno family continuing their story with Desert Heights. ❤️🐺
