We are honored to win a Thea award for our work on Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi. This park was such a foundational project for us, beginning in 2014 when Matt worked on the audio system drawings at Thinkwell. Over the years, it introduced us to an incredible group of collaborators and friends who shaped the park into what you see/hear now. Special shout out to Ted King for producing the incredible soundtracks, to Thinkwell for their leadership, and to our team — Brian Svoboda, Jon Baker, and Stephen Swift — for joining us in Abu Dhabi to bring the soundtrack to life.

Black lives matter. There is a fundamental power imbalance in America that threatens Black lives and suppresses Black voices.
We recognize that, as sound designers, we work in a subsection of the entertainment industry that is overwhelmingly white; and as two white men, our privilege has allowed us to acknowledge this imbalance without directly experiencing the repercussions of it. We shouldn’t just lament the lack of Black sound designers… we should be actively opening doors and amplifying voices (literally and figuratively). To our Black colleagues and collaborators in the audio industry: we see you and we hear you.
We have contributed to NBAF - National Black Arts, an Atlanta-based non-profit organization focused exclusively on the arts and on artists of African descent. If you are a Black student of any age who is interested in sound design, sound engineering, or any audio-related field, we’d love to speak with you and answer any questions you may have. If you are in Southern California, we welcome you to visit the studio once it is safe to do so.
We’d also like to offer our editing and mixing services to any content creators producing work aimed at combating racism, ending police brutality, and reforming the American justice and political systems. If you are one of these creators and would like audio assistance, please reach out.

We are proud to be working with Royal Caribbean on the design of these Mission Control-themed escape room experiences, located on the Oasis-class cruise ships. Ears Up did sound system design, full soundtrack production, prototyping, and the on-site audio mix.
