COVID-19 vaccine clinic with capacity to inoculate up to 10k per week opens at Glendale Community College A new mass vaccination site with the capacity to administer up to 10,000 COVID-19 shots per week opened Sunday at Glendale Community College.

GCC Alumni! Did you know the Verdugo Campus is now home to one of the best welding training facilities in the region? Work crews recently completed the conversion of the former Verdugo Fire Academy into the nearly 6,000 square foot state-of-the-art training space in the Tongva Building (formerly the Aviation/Arts Building). The project allows the welding program to double its student capacity. “We now have the latest tools to train our students in a skill set that is always in demand and will only become more valuable with all the construction needed for the 2028 LA Summer Olympics,” said Mark Dieny the department chair and welding instructor. Glendale Community College was recently in the news! GCC students are volunteering extra hours to help hospitals and other sites in need during the pandemic.

Vaccination Sites In Torrance, Orange County Hamstrung By Lack Of Staffing, Volunteers Several people who had made appointments for a COVID-19 vaccine arrived at El Camino College in Torrance Tuesday, only to be turned away because the site wasn’t staffed. The healthcare company Curative was supposed to administer the shots.

This year, the MLK/Black History Month Planning Committee at GCC has worked hard to put together extensive programming that began with GCC’s Annual Dr. MLK Breakfast Celebration in January followed by various other events throughout February.
