What is a hotspot?
Hotspots are small, mobile devices that provide Internet access to smart phones, tablets, laptops, or other wifi-enabled devices.
>The GCC Library has access to 35 hotspots which we lend to GCC students for free.
>A hotspot can connect up to 10 wifi-enabled devices.

April is Poetry Month! GCC Library is celebrating Poetry Month in collaboration with the Amnesty International student organization via a book display of poetry related to social justice.
Amnesty International @ GCC is hosting an online virtual Social Justice Poetry Slam on Wednesday, April 27th at 6:30. The event is open to the public. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to read poetry related to social justice.
Want to participate but are not sure how to find an appropriate poem? Stop by the Library display and browse the books, ask a reference librarian for assistance, or take a look at the Social Justice Poetry Library Guide for other ideas and links to online poetry ebooks and poetry resources.

Participants may read poetry that has a social justice theme or just listen in. Readings are to be two to three minutes long; a brief introduction may be offered. Poems may be previously published or original poetry written by the reader.
An attendance sheet will be maintained for students seeking extra credit.

In this one-hour Zoom session, students will set up a free NoodleTools account and learn easy ways to create citations, organize their research for class assignments, and use NoodleTools to produce a perfectly formatted Reference or Works Cited list.

March 31st is Transgender Day of Visibility, a holiday for raising awareness about transgender issues and celebrating the accomplishments of trans people. While celebratory in nature, this is also a day to recognize and raise awareness on the discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide. The GCC Libraries are a welcoming space for all.
