Our families had a great time this week celebrating Read Across America and Dr. Seuss's birthday!
We started the week with our Story Time with the Glendale Public Library. Thank you Ms. Stephanie for all of the wonderful books and songs, and especially for letting us help with the feltboard story!
Ms. Angela from PAZ Yoga read us "Mr. Brown Can Moo" by Dr. Seuss and taught us yoga poses for many of the objects in the story; such as a cow, bee, clock, butterfly, and even lighning!
We took some time to play and create with our friends. We told our own stories through our play.
We can't forget our Read Across America Week celebrations at both our Copper Creek and New River resource center locations. We had a Dr. Seuss inspired sensory play area, "Very Hungry Caterpillar" sequencing activity, Rainbow Fish playdough creations, Fox in Socks puppets, "Lorax" Truffula tree building, and a Dr. Seuss reading area.

What a fun way to celebrate National Fly A Kite Day yesterday! Our families used a variety of materials to create and decorate their kites. Some even created more than one to test their theories on which would fly better. Once we were done creating the kites, we went to the field to let them fly! Which ones do you think flew the easiest? The paper bag? Paper Plate? Cardstock? With streamers or without? The one thing we all agree on is that it was so much fun!

Each family took home a copy of the book "When the Leaf Blew In" by Steve Metzger to continue the fall celebration at home.
