At HMS, children ages 3 to 6 work and play together. Why? Younger children learn by watching their older peers, and older children deepen their understanding by teaching what they know.

It's a built-in community of mentorship and one of our favorite parts of the Montessori model. ✨

Meet Miss Bowlus, our Creativity Coordinator and Lead Guide. ✨💛🌱🎨🦋

She's spent nine years in early childhood education, working with children ages two through six. She holds a degree in Elementary Education with an additional certification in early childhood.

Her philosophy is simple: school should be magical, playful, and at least a little bit messy. She's always finding new ways to bring sticks, river rocks, and the outdoors into her lessons.

At home, she's kept busy by her own two kids, her husband, two mischievous cats, and one very snacky rabbit.

And, occasionally, she can be found sipping a hazelnut mocha truffle latte. ☕

We're so grateful she's part of our amazing team! 🌟

What a joy it's been to welcome our students back - new friends, familiar faces, and classrooms full of curiosity again! 💛

This week, our children settled back into routines, explored their environments, and reminded us why we love what we do. Watching them ease back into their work — choosing activities, greeting each other, finding their rhythm — is exactly what child-led learning looks like in action.

Thank you to all of our families for trusting us with your children this year. We're so glad to be back.

Here's to a wonderful year ahead! ✨
