Prior to the Oct. 27 Governing Board Meeting, the DAC lobby was filled with sounds of an
orchestra while Mr. Orlando Moss and 30 of his musically talented 7th and 8th-grade
students from Coyote Hills and Peoria Traditional performed for district employees in the
DAC lobby. The students began participating in the orchestra in the fifth-grade with Mr.
Moss and perform at venues throughout the year at the Orchard Pointe Assisted Living
Home during the holidays and on stage at Dave and Busters. Following their performance,
Mr. Moss and his students were then recognized by the superintendent and Governing
Board for their hard work.

This past weekend, under the direction of Mrs. Cheryl Tucker, Centennial's Bel Canto choir sang at the Arizona Choral Educators Choral Festival. At this festival, choirs sing three songs for two adjudicators and they also receive a clinic session from one of these adjudicators. These two adjudicators give the choir a score out of 100. After they sing for the adjudicators, they go into a room and are judged on their sight-reading skills.
Bel Canto received 91/100 from each of the two adjudicators and 42/50 for their sight singing (the hardest part of this festival). These scores translate to SUPERIOR WITH DISTINCTION!!!!
Congratulations to Centennial's Bel Canto Choir!

Congratulations to the Liberty Chamber Choir!
Liberty Music proudly congratulates Chamber Choir on earning a Superior With Distinction rating at the ACE Fall Choral Festival on Friday, October 28, their debut at this competition. They received performance evaluations from adjudicators Greg Hebert (co-Director of Choirs at Chandler-Gilbert Community College) and Dr. J. Edmund Hughes (Director of Choirs at University of Puget Sound). Dr. Hughes served as clinician and praised the choir's "beautiful tone" and "mesmerizing programming" with specific regards for the numerous strong soloists throughout the performance. The choir earned a score of 49/50 in sight-reading to receive the "With Distinction" caption. Liberty Chamber Choir is comprised of 24 highly select auditioned choral artists who share nearly 300 hours singing together during the academic year. The ensemble is one of five choirs at Liberty High School and represents a program of over 200 singers. Congratulations to Chamber Choir, and thank you to the staff, students, and families of Liberty High School for their continued support of our Liberty Choir family!
