❄️It’s official, Winter Break has begun! Enjoy this time with your loved ones and we will see students back on January 4, which is an early release day. As a reminder, our office is closed during the break. ❄️
Our spelling bee 🐝 was riveting this morning! Congratulations to Emilee (8th grade 1st place) and Adrian (8th grade 2nd place) as well as all of our participants!
This first grade Coyote wrote all about Santa’s Shenanigans at her house last week! 🎅🏽. Read to find out what he was up to with her chocolate coin!
On this first night of Hanukkah and throughout the Festival of Lights, may love and light fill your hearts!
Dress festively and comfortably tomorrow!
Hello Smith Families,
This Monday, December 19, is an Early Release Day with dismissal at 12:15.
School will be closed for Winter Break from Tuesday, December 20th through Tuesday, January 3rd, which is a Professional Growth Day for staff and no school for students. School for students will resume Wednesday, January 4th, 2023 as a regularly-scheduled Early Release Day.
Please plan accordingly and communicate with your students' teachers if you have any questions about the calendar. Do so before Winter Break as our teachers will be out of office and not able to respond to email and Class Dojo messages.
Thank you!
Our partners at Glendale High School sent their counseling staff to register and guide our 8th graders Wednesday. They discussed electives and class options…Because our Coyotes are Kids At Hope, we will climb to reach our goals and dream each and every day!
The Grinch showed up to try to steal our joy today, but what he didn’t know is that a Secret Santa 🤶 was busy at work delivering a sleigh full of goodies for us to raffle off. Check out some of the winners and what they chose!
By the end of the day, the Grinch’s heart grew, just like in the book by Dr. Seuss! He turned right back into our Assistant Principal, Mr. Madison!
Thank you to Orlando (1st Gr) and Luis (8th Gr) and your family for constantly spoiling our staff!
We have the best families in Glendale!
Go, Coyotes! 😎
Wow! It was an incredible season for both Soccer Teams. They worked hard and didn’t give up. We want to thank everyone for coming out to support and congratulate our coaches and players for taking home the Runner Up Trophies!
🐺❤️🐺
Two of our Coyotes represented Smith in the Glendale Hometown Parade on Saturday! Way to make us and your families proud, Zachary and Kloe!
Our Boys’ teamwork and skill paid off and they are headed to the championship game tomorrow at 4:45, after defeating Landmark in an astonishing victory!
Come out and show your support tomorrow at 4:45 and wear your Smith gear or black and teal!
In an extremely exciting game and sudden death penalty kicks, our Girls took the victory over Bicentennial and secured their place in the soccer championships tomorrow! Come out and show support at 4:45 and wear your Smith gear (or teal and black)!
What a PAWSitive day, we had! Congrats to our PAWSITIVE referral winners and thank you to Ariel (Kindergarten) and her mom for spoiling our car duty staff with appreciation and treats today in the car pick up line!
We have the best students and families in Glendale!
Our students work hard so they can level up from their reading groups! Check out these first graders who are showing our Educational Assistants how much they have grown during this round of groups!
Our teachers promote a love of reading by choosing books that interest their students! They browsed some new books and added them to their classroom libraries! 🐺❤️📚
Our Coyotes are growing their math brains in small groups! Great job! 🧠🟰🐺

Our girls are going to the semi finals undefeated! Come cheer them on Wednesday at 4:45! 🐺🎉
Hi Families!
We could really use your help in the mornings. We have been experiencing a record number of tardy students. We know these dark winter mornings can cause extra sleepiness for everyone!
As a reminder, students who need breakfast should enter the cafeteria by 8:05 am and students arriving to school should enter gates by 8:10 am to make it to their classrooms for attendance by 8:15. Students who arrive at gates at 8:15 or later report to the office for a documented tardy slip.
Thank you for your help!
One down, two to go! THIS COMING WEEK!
Our Boys’ Soccer Team gained another victory in their game last night, defeating Discovery 8-0 and advancing to the Quarterfinals! Come out and show your support next Wednesday at 4:45 at Desert Spirit field! 🎉
We want to thank all of the Coyotes 🐺who brought their parents to our event last night to gain understanding of and practice for our upcoming district Benchmark Tests!
We snacked 🍿🍪and had fun while we learned test-taking strategies. 📝💻We also were able to do some giveaways of gift cards to those in attendance!
LOOK what we got! Thank you to our GESD Maintenance Department for providing shade structures to our common areas to keep our students cool! 👏🏾
There’s nothing better than being a Smith Coyote! School pride courtesy of two of our cheerleaders ❤️📣 🐺
A reminder for tomorrow!
Our artwork is up and ready to be admired! 🎨🖼️

❄️ Thank you to everyone who came out to Smith Glitters and to our fantastic PTO, Staff/Teachers, Band Director and Cheer Club Sponsor for the work you put into the evening!🥳
Our cheerleaders were on duty at their first event tonight at Smith Glitters! They performed and helped run booths! Thanks for the entertainment and Wintertime cheer! ❄️ 🎉
It was a delightful show! Kudos to our 5th and 6th-8th grade bands and our Band Director, Mrs. Smith on a melodious Winter concert!
If you can join us tomorrow for the beautiful weather in downtown Glendale, we will have art on display!
Our parent calendars for this month have been sent home. Our Coffee Talk this month will be a community forum to ask parents for input on community needs, hosted by Touchstone Behavioral Health.
Woohoo!!!
Way to go, Zachary! He was awarded the Glendale Student of the Month through Glendale Kiwanis Club and was recognized at our Governing Board Meeting and in the Glendale Star Newspaper! We are so proud!
