From the Art Room: Mrs. Quintana

Hello all! There are a few items that I will need for projects in the art room soon. If you would be willing to save some of these things, I would be grateful 😊
Plastic yogurt containers (or something of the same size/shape)
Disposable plastic microwavable meal containers all shapes and sizes needed (think Lean Cuisine type container)
Salad and go containers (salad and burrito bowl)
Plastic grocery bags
Coffee creamer containers
Pringle Containers (or something of same size and shape)
Egg cartons (Styrofoam, plastic or cardboard)
To-go drink holders (the ones from fast food restaurants that hold 4- McDonalds, salad and go, etc.)

The first PTO Meeting of the school year is this coming Wednesday, August 16th at 4:00pm in the Library! We hope to see both new and returning families as well as new and returning staff. Let’s make it a great year!! 💜🧡

Will your student be riding the bus this school year? See the attached post for more information!

Attention, ! We are excited to share that families can now find their child’s bus route information online at https://www.wesdschools.org/FindYourBus. Families will need their child’s six-digit ID number and date of birth to log in. Once logged in, click "Students" at the top of the page and then select "View My Students". Transportation information will be displayed for your child including the bus stop location, pick-up/drop-off times and the bus number. If you do not have your child's ID number, please visit ParentVUE or call your child's school office.

As a reminder, the following schools are walking schools and do not provide transportation to regular education students: Abraham Lincoln Traditional School, Acacia Elementary School, Alta Vista Elementary, Arroyo School, Chaparral Elementary School, Manzanita Elementary School, Sahuaro Elementary School, Sunset Elementary and Sweetwater School.

Thank you to our volunteers, Blazer families, community partners and Sunburst staff for your support this year! We couldn’t have pulled off everything below without each of you! We cannot wait to see what we can do next year!

Congratulations to the Greenway High School 2023 Graduates 💚💛!! Last week we had the honor of presenting four scholarships to these three former Sunburst Elementary Blazers 💜🧡! These graduates are headed off to do great things! We wish you the best of luck in all of your future endeavors! 🎓

Another 🤩 WOW 🤩 moment Blazer families!

Look at these numbers! Thank you to all of our volunteers last week who helped make this possible! It warms our hearts to give back in such a huge way to our students and staff!

WOW! 🤩 What a turnout! Thank you to all of our Blazer families who woke up extra early today to have breakfast with us! Another HUGE thank you to the families that donated time and donuts for the event! We cannot believe the school year is almost over and we cannot wait to do more fun activities next year!

Last meeting of the school year is Wednesday the 17th. We hope to see you there!

Friday afternoon pick me up for our staff to staff to stay afloat until (and through) summer!

Yesterday afternoon we were able to put together a Trail Mix Bar for the staff to make their own custom trail mix to push through the rest of the week!

Official Rules:

The art auction will begin on Wednesday 5/10 and end on 5/14 . All of the proceeds from the sales of the auction will go towards art materials for student use in the Sunburst art room.
You must be 18 years or older to bid. Bid in dollar amounts only. All money will be payable to the Sunburst PTO. When making a bid, please click on the comment section of the specific item that you want to bid on and type your bid amount. Make sure that your name is easily recognizable in your profile. At the end of the auction on May 14, @ 7pm, the highest bidder for each item will be contacted. After payment has been received the artwork will be available for pick up at the Sunburst Elementary School office. Thank you so much for your support!!!

Thank you to Bagel Gourmet for supporting the educators in our community with your generous donation of bagels and cream cheese to us so that we could spoil the entire staff at Sunburst Elementary! They absolutely loved it this morning, especially that they were still warm! On behalf of the staff, THANK YOU! 🧡💜

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week Sunburst! We helped turn their lounge into a groovy hangout as well as leave some surprises on their desks! We all have a full week ahead to show our appreciation. We hope our families join in too!
