MWU vet students working with anatomy faculty on projects as part of the CVM Summer Research Program presented their work on Tuesday!
Topics included the anatomy of the African spur-thigh tortoise, anatomical variation of the CNS of tadpoles, comparative anatomy of the hands of two-toed and three-toed sloths, and anatomy of Burmese pythons.
The students are presenting their posters this weekend at the National Veterinary Scholars Program in St. Paul Minnesota! 🐢🐸🦥🐍

Earlier this month, several of our faculty travelled to Cairns, Australia, to present their research at the International Congress of Vertebrate Morphology!

We are now in our second year of integrating ultrasound labs into our summer PA/PT/NA anatomy course! Last week, students scanned their own hearts and abdomens, and performed modified FAST exams with the help of some excellent OMS-II TAs.

Our Anatomy faculty Dr. Carrie Veilleux just published a new study in Communications Biology!
In this study, Dr. V and colleagues at the University of Calgary, University at Buffalo, and other institutions explored the genes underlying taste and olfaction in neighboring populations of traditional foragers and agriculturalists to explore whether subsistence history has influenced chemosensation.
