We are back to school tomorrow! Gates open at 7:15am, students can get breakfast then go to class. We can’t wait to see all of our students, on time, ready to learn!

Thank you Horizon families for a wonderful Meet the Teacher! We can’t wait to see our students on Monday to get the school year going. Gates open at 7:15 and learning starts at 7:30. Breakfast is available for free for all students.

Today we officially kicked off a new school year at Horizon, and what a way to start! We celebrated the incredible academic growth our students achieved last year and set our sights on an even stronger season ahead.

New nutrition guidelines are coming to GESD! Beginning the 2026-2027 school year, GESD will follow the Arizona Healthy Schools Act (A.R.S. 15-242.01).

What does this mean for GESD families?

✅ The new state law restricts 11 artificial food dyes and additives from foods served, sold, or shared on campus during the school day.

✅ GESD will continue providing breakfast and lunch options that meet updated nutrition standards.

✅ Please check with your child’s teacher before bringing shared food items or treats to ensure they meet updated guidelines.

✅ Families may continue packing lunches and snacks for their own child.
