New nutrition guidelines are coming to GESD! Beginning the 2026-2027 school year, GESD will follow the Arizona Healthy Schools Act (A.R.S. 15-242.01).

What does this mean for GESD families?

✅ The new state law restricts 11 artificial food dyes and additives from foods served, sold, or shared on campus during the school day.

✅ GESD will continue providing breakfast and lunch options that meet updated nutrition standards.

✅ Please check with your child’s teacher before bringing shared food items or treats to ensure they meet updated guidelines.

✅ Families may continue packing lunches and snacks for their own child.
