Classes by Josh and Tonia Sell
Our goal is to get kids involved in a variety of life skills & hands on projects. We will teach classes that help them develop dexterity, gain confidence, and learn new activities.

Woodworking
Leather crafting
Vehicle maintenance
Campfire basics
Geode exploration
Most of the classes will be taught at our home. We are located in Glendale around 59th Ave and Greenway. You will get a payment receipt and a copy of Josh's high school diploma to turn in for ESA reimbursements under tutoring. We are not a business or a vendor on the ESA Marketplace. Receipts will be under the name Josh Sell.
*** For your safety and ours, we have security cameras surrounding our house. Also, pictures may be taken and posted on Facebook. If you do not want your child in any of our photos, please let me know in advance. We absolutely want to protect your privacy, if needed.
Who we are...
Josh currently lives in Glendale and is happily married to his wife Tonia, they have two boys named Toby (14) and Kyle (12). Tonia has been homeschooling their boys for nine years and they are an ESA family.
Qualifications...
Josh is a US Navy veteran with a former secret clearance. He has his Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card and has regular background checks because of his job.
Josh was a youth scout leader at Trail Life USA for four years. Trail Life is a youth scouting program focused on personal development, the outdoors and faith. Josh focused on teaching grades K-4.
Interests...
Josh currently works in the electronic security and surveillance industry, protecting people, property, and information. When not at work or on an adventure, Josh can be found doing projects around the house. He enjoys working with wood, leather, metal, electronics, cars and anything that his boys are involved in. His gifts include fixing anything that doesn't involve plumbing! 😁
History...
Josh was born in Kansas, but has lived in the Phx area since 1986. Backpacking and camping have been a part of his life since he was a small child. He's made countless trips into the Grand Canyon and other places in Northern and Central Arizona.
He finished high school at South Mountain where he earned his pilots license, took ceramics classes and worked part time at a restaurant.
He joined the Navy in 2000 and was a communication electrician for four years. He was assigned to the aircraft carrier John C. Stennis CVN-74, went on two deployments, and visited over 10 countries. His ship deployed warplanes in the Middle East following 9/11.
Josh is the son of a teacher and a musician who grew up in a home with lots of family adventures, music, and books. He was that kid in school who couldn't sit still except to read a good book or play a game. Most of his free time was spent outdoors. He grew up as a curious child who still loves to learn, teach, and see the value in kids acquiring a variety of skills. Adopting a 'beginner's mindset' has been an important factor.
Josh is looking forward to sharing his knowledge and skills with the younger generation.
