Our students, schools, and community need your support now more than ever! The DVUSD Bond and Override are essential measures that will directly impact over 33,000 students by ensuring they have safe, modern learning environments and the resources they need to thrive. Here’s what you need to know:
🌟 What is the Bond? The 2024 DVUSD Bond will fund critical capital projects without increasing your property tax. As assessed home values go up, the bond rate decreases, resulting in a level bond levy—so you won’t pay more than you currently do. The bond will:
Upgrade classroom safety measures, including automatic door locks and enhanced security systems.
Provide technology at a 1:1 student-to-device ratio.
Support necessary building maintenance and repairs.
Ensure safe transportation by replacing outdated buses.
Fund the construction of a new elementary school and the first phase of a new high school to accommodate our growing community.
💰 The estimated average cost for a $259,650 home is just $15.12/month, continuing the tax already being assessed. THIS WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR PROPERTY TAX!
🌟 What is the M&O Override? The M&O Override supplements the school funding we receive from the state, preserving essentials like:
Full-day kindergarten.
Smaller class sizes.
Salaries for teachers and staff (8.5% of salaries depend on this override).
Co-curricular and extracurricular activities like arts, athletics, gifted programs, and more.
