In this video, I break down:
✔ What Hantavirus is
✔ How homes become vulnerable
✔ Risks in vacant properties
✔ What homeowners should do

Today, May 5th, is World Asthma Day, and we celebrate the incredible progress being made in states and communities across the country to improve asthma outcomes and reduce asthma disparities!

One year ago, the National Center for Healthy Housing (NCHH) and regional Asthma Management and Prevention (RAMP) released "Sustainable Financing for Home-Based Asthma Services: Snapshots of Innovation and Progress Across the Country," which provides an overview of what progress and pathways for building systems to expand and sustain access to home-based asthma services might look like. Today, we’re excited to release an expanded version of the resource that features the successes of 10 states and communities that provide both lessons learned and inspiration. Access the expanded edition here: https://bit.ly/NCHHpubsAsthmaSnaps

In addition to reading the snapshots of success, we invite you to join us in a discussion with five of the states and communities featured. Join us for a webinar, "Sustainable Financing for Home-Based Asthma Services: Snapshots of Innovation and Progress Across the Country," next Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time. We encourage you to register here today: https://bit.ly/RAMPreg2605

We hope these snapshots will inspire work in your own community, and as always, NCHH and our partners at RAMP are here to provide no-cost technical assistance to you and your partners. Please reach out to us!

🌿 April is National Healthy Homes Month 🌿

As real estate professionals, we don’t just sell homes… we shape the environments where people live, breathe, and build their lives.

This year’s theme—“Healthy Homes for Everyone: Practical Actions. Shared Solutions. Lasting Impact.”—is a powerful reminder that safe, healthy housing is a shared responsibility.

🏡 Did you know?
The condition of a home directly impacts health, from air quality and allergens to safety hazards and long-term well-being.

💡 As Realtors®, we have a unique opportunity to:
✔ Educate clients beyond curb appeal
✔ Identify potential health risks before they become costly problems
✔ Advocate for safer, healthier living environments

Because a “dream home” should never come with hidden health risks.

This month, let’s shift the conversation from just buying and selling ➡️ to protecting and improving lives.

Most people evaluate a home by its square footage…
But what if that’s only part of the story?

Understanding the health side of housing isn’t just a value-add… it’s a competitive advantage.

When we look beyond the square feet, we don’t just help people buy or sell homes—we help them make better life decisions.

Healthy buildings protect the most vulnerable—kids, seniors, and anyone with asthma or respiratory sensitivities. If your organization serves the public, this is an opportunity to move from reaction to prevention.

Please share this with schools, nonprofits, and community leaders who should know.

"Because no matter who we are or where we come from, we’re all entitled to the basic human rights of clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, and healthy land to call home," MLK

Housing decisions shape public health, equity, and sustainability. As professionals and communities, we have a responsibility to protect what truly matters—people and the environments they live in.

Healthy homes aren’t optional. They’re essential.

As a speaker, I'm always learning—from observing how others deliver their message to refining my own unique programs. At the event hosted by S4/Compass in downtown Phoenix, I had the privilege of connecting with Don Yaeger—a fellow athlete and speaker whose powerful message on resilience and a winning mindset truly resonated with me.

As a former basketball player, I especially appreciated hearing from someone who brings a sports-driven perspective to overcoming adversity.

A big thank you to Terri from PuriFi for the invite. It was an incredible experience to network with 500+ attendees and be part of such an inspiring community.
