Joshua is a first-grade student in Glendale Elementary Online Learning (GEO). Every Saturday, Joshua and his family help people experiencing homelessness in West Valley neighborhoods. They prepare and pack food to distribute to families in need. He also helps organize and distribute basic school supplies to homeless children. Joshua's family and his GEO school community say that he has a good heart and loves to share his kindness with others.
The Kiwanis Club of Glendale, Az sponsored the inaugural Student of the Month program in GESD this school year and recently announced that the Kiwanis Club will extend its generosity to continue the program in the 2022-2023 school year. Students are chosen by Superintendent Segotta-Jones for their servant leadership.
Congratulations, Joshua!

GESD Families: Please complete the following survey and let us know about your technology access and how you are experiencing broadband (internet) in your home or residence.
https://www.research.net/r/GESD_Internet_Access_Survey
This survey is part of an incredible and limited opportunity for GESD to receive internet services and devices for our families to access technology at home. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently launched two programs to help students with internet connectivity and access to technology devices at home.
For the first program, known as the Emergency Connectivity Fund, school districts can apply for financial support to purchase Wi-Fi hotspots and laptop/tablet computers for off-campus use by students.
In order for GESD to apply and prepare for the program, we must know the quantities for the equipment and the at-home connectivity needs of our families.
There is also a second program, known as the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, an FCC program that provides discounts on monthly internet and technology devices for qualifying low-income households. Families can directly apply for this program. Find out if your family is eligible to apply at https://www.fcc.gov/broadbandbenefit.
We truly appreciate your support and participation. Thank you in advance for completing this survey to help us prepare to submit a request for funding to purchase eligible equipment and services for the 2021-2022 school year.

🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July from GESD! 🇺🇸
