Congratulations to the GESD Student of the Month Joshua Carrillo! đđđ
Joshua is a first-grade student in Glendale Elementary Online Learning (GEO). Every Saturday, Joshua and his family help people experiencing homelessness in West Valley neighborhoods. They prepare and pack food to distribute to families in need. He also helps organize and distribute basic school supplies to homeless children. Joshua's family and his GEO school community say that he has a good heart and loves to share his kindness with others.
The Kiwanis Club of Glendale, Az sponsored the inaugural Student of the Month program in GESD this school year and recently announced that the Kiwanis Club will extend its generosity to continue the program in the 2022-2023 school year. Students are chosen by Superintendent Segotta-Jones for their servant leadership.

Itâs never too early to begin preparing for college and thanks to the team at GCU K12 Educational Development, GESD eighth graders have the opportunity to visualize their future education plans.
With the Grand Canyon University Thunder Vision program, students learn about college admissions, degree pathways and scholarships and tour the campus to experience student life at GCU.
Landmark School students attended the program this week with more GESD schools scheduled to visit this semester, including a virtual tour for Glendale Elementary Online Learning students!

Shout-out to Glendale Elementary Online Learning (GEO) student Kyara and Joseph Benavidez, a 4th-grade teacher at Challenger Middle School! Superintendent Segotta-Jones congratulated both this week. Thank you to the Glendale Uniting Students, Teachers, and Others (GUSTO) Foundation for donating gift cards for our amazing recipients.
A friendly reminder that Adopt-A-Kid gifts are due to the District Office Monday, Dec. 13th! Thank you to our donors who kicked off the giving season with their gifts last week.
Shout-out to longtime supporter Judie Porter, who has been participating in our Adopt-A-Kid program since its beginning.
