Nine members of the GSL FFA Chapter spent four days at Deep Portage for SLCCL, where they grew their leadership skills and built lasting connections. From sessions led by the state officers to small group discussions and countless games, every activity helped these members become stronger leaders for our chapter. We’re proud of all they learned and can’t wait to see them put their new skills into action!

A HUGE congratulations to our GSL FFA alumni, Kalley Christen, on being selected as one of the 10 Princess Kay of the Milky Way finalists!
Kalley’s FFA journey has taken her so many places, and we couldn’t be more excited to watch her take on this incredible opportunity! We are so proud of everything she has accomplished and can’t wait to cheer her on as she gets ready for coronation night!
If you want to help support Kalley, coronation is held on August 26th at 8:00pm at the Minnesota State Fair or you watch the livestream found on the Princess Kay of the Milky Way Facebook.

SGLC 2026! From engaging sessions to small group activities, every part of the day kept us learning, laughing, and making memories. Getting to know the state officers, region presidents, and so many FFA members from chapters across the state made this experience even more special. We’re grateful for the new friendships, leadership lessons, and unforgettable memories!

Pick-up your produce on Monday, July 27th from 3-6 PM at the GSL Gardens (near Oscar Olson Park).

⚽️ FIFA WORLD CUP MEETS AG ⚽️

As the FIFA World Cup reaches its finale, we wanted to share a pretty unique tie to this international event. Last year our GSL FFA members visited UT Knoxville and saw the turf being developed for the FIFA World Cup . From cleat wear and tear to injury prevention, grass technology matters in our favorite sports! Thanks to the crew at UT Institute of Agriculture for sharing this once in a lifetime experience, career exposure, and fun knowledge with us!

DAY 4
For the final day of the 2026 summer ag tour, we started the day going to RDO equipment where they talked about RDO starting as a local business and how it expanded into a global organization with operations in countries such as Ukraine and Australia. As it grew, so did the demand for skilled workers, including diesel mechanics and parts specialists, emphasizing the importance of technical knowledge in the industry. We also learned how the company works with local businesses on projects like welding, showing the value of collaboration and community partnerships. Overall, it was impressive to see how one company could achieve such diverse accomplishments while making a significant impact on a global scale. The last tour for the trip was at Oakdale Farms with Erica. We learned how she takes an care of her turkeys and how her farm has changed over the years. She talked about the best ways to keep her barns clean and the different diseases that are common in turkeys.
