WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Brady Jacobs
⛳️
For senior Brady Jacobs, golf started as a way to spend time with his brother and try something new. When Brady was in eighth grade, his brother started playing golf, and Brady wanted to go with him. What started as simply following his brother onto the course quickly became something he loved. “ My brother started playing golf when I was in eighth grade, and after that I loved it,” he said.
This season, Brady’s focus is set on reaching a goal he has been working towards. His biggest goal is to shoot under par. With every round, Brady hopes to continue improving and getting closer to reaching that goal.
While golf may look simple from the outside, Brady knows that there is so much more to the sport than hitting a ball towards a hole. One of the hardest parts is the frustration that comes with trying to stay consistent. “ Some days I’m playing amazing and then the next day I forget how to swing,” he said. The challenge of finding consistency is the part of what makes golf such a demanding sport.
Golf has also helped Brady grow beyond the course. The sport has taught him patience, especially when things don’t happen as quickly as he would like. “Golf has helped me with patience,” he said. Whether he is stuck behind a slow group on the course or working to fix his swing, Brady has learned that improvement can take time. Even the smallest changes can make a huge difference in the end.
For Brady, golf is more than just chasing a score. It’s about learning patience, staying consistent, and continuing to work toward improvement. As he works towards his goal of shooting under par, Brady continues to show the dedication and perseverance that makes him a strong student-athlete.
