For young children, respect means treating people, animals, and things with kindness and care. "Respect" is our Character Trait for the month of September, and our children will learn all about respect in the classrooms and on the playground.

We can all help children understand the importance of respect in many everyday ways:

👧Listen when others are speaking.

🎀Use polite words such as "please," "thank you," and "excuse me."

🧚‍♂️Take turns and share with friends.

🐥Use gentle hands with people, animals and possessions.

🧺Take care of toys and classroom materials.

😊Follow classroom rules and instructions.

💁‍♂️Respect other people's feelings and personal space.

🧩Help clean up after activities.

🥇Celebrate our friends' accomplishments instead of making fun of them.

🍇 Make a Fruit Face: Arrange fruit into a silly face on toast or yogurt.

🌈 Rainbow Breakfast: Offer colorful fruits and let children create a rainbow.

🥝 Breakfast Taste Test: Sample different fruits or yogurt flavors.

🔶 Breakfast Shapes: Use cookie cutters to make fun shapes out of pancakes or toast.
