Sadly, we lost the appeal to the demolition permit for the Old Rectory. Since money talks, if you are a parishioner of St. Thomas, please consider changing your weekly donation to $18.74 to stand in opposition to the demolition of the Old Rectory.

Since the story about the demolition of the 1874 Rectory aired on CBS3, the outpouring of support has been incredible. I have heard from parishioners, neighbors & friends telling me their feelings, their personal experiences and asking how they can help save the building.

Currently there is a stop work order in place until June 23 that was issued by Chester Heights Borough. It looks like the pastor is not following the stop order for demolition of the Old Historical Rectory. Since the order was put in place early last week, the historical railing has been removed. Who took it? When the pastor was questioned back in March about what is going to happen to the valuable historical items from the rectory, his reply was that there is nothing worth saving inside. Who is salvaging and probably making a profit of off the old rectory?

Please call the New Rectory at 610-459-2224 and/or email him at [email protected]

Email Archbishop Nelson Perez at [email protected]

Email Bishop John McIntyre at [email protected]

Email Father Jack Kolodziej, Provincial of the Oblates at [email protected]

Please send messages to these men to tell them to leave the building alone and how wrong it is that they are doing this.

It’s been a great ride! I had a lot of fun posting all the updates of the wonderful things our Alumni are doing, the dances they attended, teams they played on, the life events, and supporting the school. I had a wonderful time helping to start the Alumni Association, watching it grow & getting to know all of you. It was touching to me how grateful you all were when we planned an Alumni event. But all good things come to an end and after leading the Alumni Association for 10 years my time has come to an end. This door has closed & God will open another. Wishing you all the best. 💚💛 Lori Cellucci

Happy St. Joseph’s Day!!

St. Joseph
Saint of the Day

St. Joseph (1st c.) was a descendant of Israel’s King David and a carpenter by trade. Scripture tells us that he was a just and virtuous man who was betrothed to wed the young Blessed Virgin Mary. Upon finding her pregnant with the Son of God, Joseph, after a time of uncertainty, was encouraged by an angel to continue with the marriage plans. Because of his complete faithfulness and obedience to the will of God, St. Joseph was chosen to become the spouse of the Mother of God and the adoptive father of Jesus Christ. As the divinely-appointed earthly guardian and protector of the Holy Family, St. Joseph provided and cared for the material needs of Mary and the Child Jesus. St. Joseph is the patron saint of many causes, especially fathers, families, married couples, children, pregnant women, workers, craftsmen, against doubt, the dying, and a happy and holy death. He is also the guardian and protector of the Universal Church. He has two feast days: St. Joseph the Husband of Mary on March 19th, and St. Joseph the Worker on May 1st. However, when St. Joseph’s feast day on March 19th falls on a Sunday it is moved to the Monday and celebrated on March 20th.
