The Art Program at COD

The Art Program at the College of Dupage is the county’s first choice when pursing a degree or career in Art (or even just to take a class here or there). We offer a variety of introductory and advanced courses in 2D and 3D media, as well as Art History, for a complete education in the fine arts. Our Art faculty are graduates of SAIC, Yale University, University of Illinois, Cranbrook Academy of A

rt, Northern Illinois University, and UIC among others. They are extremely active in their professional careers, mounting solo exhibitions, curating exhibitions, publishing texts, serving on museum and non-profit boards, and setting a definitively high standard for successful art study at COD. They are without question among Illinois' best. We encourage you to visit our main Glen Ellyn campus. Take a look the far reaching student work in our hallways, tour our incredible facilities, studios, and the new Wings Student Gallery. Then, compare us to the competition. At $4,200 for 1 year equivalent tuition, there’s no other option for superb fine arts study. Please “like” us to stay up to date on happenings, events, and program information.

Tomorrow at 1pm we launch the 2020-2021 Visiting Artist Series with photo-based artist Alice Hargrave. Alice's work incorporates sound and video within layered installations of her photographic imagery, reflecting on the notion of impermanence: environmental insecurity, habitat loss, and species extinctions. She is joined in conversation by writer Gavin Van Horn from Center for Humans and Nature and naturalist Stephanie Touzalin from Willowbrook Wildlife Center moderated by College of DuPage Art Professor David Ouellette. Using materials that range from twigs to crystals to rainbow-colored hair, the artist makes sculptures that, for all their beauty, are visceral and necessary critiques of racial injustice.
