Check out the Institute for Jazz Studies Student Jam Session Sunday January 28 at 4pm!

Jam Sessions are an integral part of the jazz tradition and offer students an opportunity to test out new ideas they are working on, get experience playing with others, develop their tune lists and get to know other musicians.

This jam session will begin with some opening performances from some of our current student jazz combos as well as our faculty. Afterwards, there will be time for students to sit in with our faculty and other students. The jam session is open to the public - students do not have to be currently enrolled at Bellas Artes.

Here are the details:

Date: Sunday, Jan 28, 2024
Time: 4-6pm
Location: Two Hound Red Brewing Co.
486 Pennsylvania Ave
Glen Ellyn, IL 60137

Cost: Free! Please purchase some food and/or beverages to support the venue.

What to Bring: Your Instrument, Guitarists bring an amp. Keyboard, Drums, and Bass Amp will be provided.

What to expect: A sign-up sheet will be available for students at the jam session so students can let us know what tune(s) they would like to play.

Students should try to have at least one tune they can play by memory (melody, chords, solo, etc).
