Here’s a caption that keeps the sarcasm from the video but turns it into a clear message for athletes and parents:
Here’s EXACTLY how I would get hurt this fall as a soccer player… 🤦♂️⚽️
I’d do ZERO strength training.
ZERO speed work.
ZERO mobility work.
Then I’d magically expect my body to handle a 15–20 game season, practices, and tournament weekends where I could play 5+ games. 🪄
And of course, I’d expect no groin pulls, hip flexor problems, hamstring strains, ankle sprains, knee issues, or back pain…
Sounds crazy, right?
Yet this is how a lot of soccer players approach their season.
One big reason? Athletes are scared that strength and speed training during the season will make them sore and hurt their performance.
But in-season training is NOT the same as offseason training.
💪 Offseason: Build more strength, speed, power, and fitness.
⚽ In-season: Adjust the workouts to help maintain your strength, speed, mobility, and overall athletic ability while managing your game load.
You worked all offseason to build your body. Don’t stop training it when you need it most.
Your goal shouldn’t just be to start the fall season strong. You want to finish it strong too.
