8th Graders******

My dancers-

What can I say? I am at a loss for words. In March, I had at least three more months with you. Time to make lasting memories. Time to watch you take your last jete in the studio. Time to gracefully say my internally and inherent goodbyes to beautiful children that I have grown to care genuinely about. I wish I had more time, but it’s not on our side.

All of you will move on to different worlds that offer more pages to write for your futures. Your passions will influence your desire to be great and become leaders. Yes, I see this in all of you. When you set foot in my studio, I knew right there you had it in you to persevere. You take whatever obstacles are thrown at you and learn from it.

Strength, power, intelligence, humbleness, beauty..... doesn’t describe you enough. Dancers, you have so much compassion for others. It brings me to tears thinking about the community you built here at Marley and will continue to build where ever you go.

Your art is influential. It can bring positivity and empowerment when needed. You can make changes where ever you go-I know this you see because you planted the seed and changed me.

I am always here for you, even if it is just to listen.

Stay brave. Stay willing. And stay open.

ALL COUNTY ANNOUNCEMENT
I am pleased to announce this year's 2019-2020 All County recipients. These young ladies represented Marley in a respectful and professional manner on and off campus. We should all be proud of the company created this year as they worked extremely hard regardless of their situation or environment. Please send some love and words of pride to honor their hard work that was very contagious throughout the company. I am so proud of all our dancers.

Neveah Frank- All County recipient
Erin Mueller- All County recipient

Sabrina McNeill- Honorable mention

Nomination requirements:
• 3.0 cumulative GPA
• Excellent attendance at school and at rehearsals
• Excellent attitude
• Dance Company member at their middle/high school for the entire school year
• Completes all Dance Company requirements (performances, assignments, deadlines, etc.)
• No disciplinary problems at school or in dance
• Advanced dancer
• Leadership ability
• Sets high personal standards
• Strives for excellence
• Service to the dance program in AACPS

IMPORTANT DETAILS:
• Dancers can be All-county every year (grades 6-12) as long as they have met the criteria and are nominated/selected.
• A dancer from last year is not automatically in consideration for the award again this year. Dancers must be nominated each year to be considered for the award for that year.
• Just because a dancer is nominated does not mean they will be named All-county.

Dancers- I just wanted to let you know that I miss you all so very much. I wish I could be in the studio right now more than ever exploring movement. Please stay occupied with your creative minds and most importantly safe. I hope that I will see you soon. Many social distancing hugs.....

Dancers- I created a google classroom and sent invites to your aacps email accounts. We have been staying connected and sharing our love of dance this way. If you can’t find the invite, send me a message/email and I will give you the code.
