INSTRUCTOR SPOTLIGHT - Eleonora Hayes

Eleonora has been painting and drawing since childhood. Growing up in Bulgaria, she learned how to draw and paint like the old masters. In the USA, she was introduced to contemporary methods and theory and earned her MFA in painting and drawing.

If you're new to drawing and want a hands-on introduction, Eleonora's upcoming Drawing Fundamentals class might be perfect for you! She'll walk students through foundational techniques such as line, shape, shading, proportion, and perspective, so that you can learn how to see like an artist and translate what you see onto paper.

🎨 Class Spotlight: Floral Painting with a Palette Knife

Our students had a great time learning palette knife techniques with instructor Eleonora Hayes! They explored how to use the palette knife to create petals, leaves, stems, texture, and depth while working on their own floral paintings.

Thank you, Eleonora, for sharing your expertise and helping our artists build confidence with the palette knife. And thank you to everyone who joined us—your creativity made the classroom bloom!

FREE - Touchstones: A Clay Wellness Drop-In

Join us for a free, hands-on clay experience during Creative Wellness Month. In this drop-in activity, you’ll shape and decorate small, smooth clay stones—sometimes known as “worry stones”—that fit in the palm of your hand.

Traditionally used as tools for comfort and focus, these stones can also serve as personal touchstones: gentle reminders of calm, intention, or strength. You’ll have the chance to personalize yours with text imprints that hold meaning for you.

No experience needed. All ages welcome. Stay for a few minutes or longer—this is a relaxed, come-as-you-are opportunity to explore the grounding power of clay.

UPCOMING CLASS - Creative Storytelling through Vignettes
September 28-30

September is Creative Wellness Month, and we're excited to offer ways to express yourself in a variety of media, including writing!

This introductory course will teach participants how to write a vignette, or written snapshot. A series of vignettes, sequenced together, can become a memoir about an important period in your life.

Each session will be interactive, as part of a roundtable format. Participants will take part in verbal warmups to create dialogue and shape the writing group, explore brainstorming techniques, craft rough drafts, and learn how to refine and write vignettes in final form.

Start crafting your own story and register here: https://glenarborart.org/product/creative-storytelling-through-vignettes/
