☀️🌴 Summer Is Here! 🌴☀️

Our classrooms had a blast kicking off summer with beach-themed learning and fun! ☀️🏖️

👶 Mobile Infants explored sun sorting and created colorful beach ball art.
🏝️ Orange Giraffes enjoyed sand sensory bags.
🌞 Preschoolers learned about the seasons and transformed their sensory bin into a beach filled with sand and seashells.
📚 Our younger learners enjoyed summer-themed storytime, including Biscuit's First Beach Day.
🎲 Pre-K students practiced teamwork and problem-solving with Soda Box Jenga.

🏅 Field Day Fun at Lightbridge Academy! 🏅

Even though the rain changed our plans this morning, our students didn't let that dampen their spirits! Once the weather cleared, everyone headed outside for an exciting afternoon of Field Day fun.

Children participated in a variety of activities including tug-of-war, giant tic-tac-toe, bean bag tosses, agility races, and more. There were plenty of smiles, cheers, teamwork, and friendly competition throughout the day!

We're so proud of our students for showing great sportsmanship, encouraging their friends, and giving each activity their best effort. Thank you to our amazing teachers for helping make the day such a success.

We had a fantastic time making memories together and can't wait for our next special event! ☀️🎉

☀️🏅 Week One of Summer Camp is in the books! 🏅☀️

What an incredible start to summer at Lightbridge Academy!

This week, our campers explored our Team Sports & Olympics theme through exciting games, friendly competition, teamwork activities, and plenty of opportunities to build confidence and sportsmanship.

To help beat the heat, we also enjoyed not one, but two water play days filled with laughter, splashes, and smiles!

From cheering on teammates to making new friends, our campers kicked off the summer with energy, enthusiasm, and lots of fun. We can't wait to see what adventures next week brings!

🍩 Happy National Donut Day! 🍩

Today, we treated our incredible teachers and staff to donuts as a small token of appreciation for everything they do each day.

From nurturing young minds and creating engaging learning experiences to providing comfort, encouragement, and endless patience, our team pours their hearts into making Lightbridge Academy a special place for every child and family.

We are so grateful for the dedication, passion, and care our educators bring to the classroom every day. Thank you for all that you do!

🎉 BIG MILESTONE ALERT! 🎉

Today, our children got their very first chance to explore Khaki Kangaroos, the newest addition to our Lightbridge Academy family! 🦘💙

Designed for children ages 2.5 to 3 years old, Khaki Kangaroos will serve as a bridge between our toddler and preschool programs, providing even more opportunities for growth, independence, and learning.

The children spent a little time in the classroom today and their excitement was contagious as they explored the new space, played with friends, and got a sneak peek at all the adventures ahead.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our amazing teachers and staff, whose hard work, creativity, and dedication helped bring this classroom to life. Watching our school continue to grow is a testament to the incredible community we are building together.

🎓✨ Celebrating Our Pre-K Graduates! ✨🎓

This week, we had the privilege of celebrating one of our favorite milestones of the year—our Pre-K Moving Up Ceremony and Graduation!

Watching our students grow throughout the year has been an incredible journey. From mastering new skills and building confidence to forming lasting friendships and developing a love of learning, they have accomplished so much.

As they prepare to take their next big step into kindergarten, we couldn't be prouder of all they have achieved. Their hard work, curiosity, resilience, and bright personalities have made this a truly special class.

Congratulations to our Class of 2026 graduates! We are honored to have been part of your early learning journey and can't wait to see all the wonderful things you'll accomplish in the years ahead. 🌟

In observance of Memorial Day, Lightbridge Academy will be closed on Monday, May 25, as we take time to reflect on the meaning of this important day and spend time with our loved ones.

We’re excited to introduce our NEW Half Day Program at Lightbridge Academy! 💛

Designed for children ages 2½ and older, our half day option provides a warm, engaging, and enriching preschool experience in a flexible schedule perfect for many families.

🕗 Hours: 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM
📅 Program Begins June 1

Children will enjoy:
🌱 Seedlings early childhood curriculum
🎵 Music enrichment
🤟 Sign language exposure
🌎 Spanish enrichment
🧘 Yoga & mindfulness activities
🎨 Hands-on learning experiences

This program is a wonderful introduction to preschool while helping children build confidence, communication skills, independence, and friendships along the way.

This week at Lightbridge Academy of Glen Allen, our classrooms were full of creativity, curiosity, and BIG ideas as we celebrated our “Make It May!” Inventions theme! 💡⚙️🛠️

Our little learners explored what it means to be an inventor — someone who creates solutions to problems — and discovered that inventions are all around us every day!

Throughout the week, our students became inventors themselves:
✨ Preschoolers designed imaginative machines using blocks and gears, from cleaning machines to ice cream makers.
🍳 Young chefs in our dramatic play kitchen invented brand-new recipes and named their creative dishes.
🚦 Children built roads and traffic lights while learning how inventors improved stoplights by adding the yellow “slow down” signal.
🎨 Young Toddlers explored 3-D creations using playdough, buttons, sticks, straws, and other loose parts.
💻 Our Pre-K class even explored beginner coding with Scratch, programming a cat sprite to move and meow!
📦 Our Mobile Infants worked together with teachers to create classroom inventions using large cardboard boxes and imagination.

It was incredible watching our students think critically, problem solve, collaborate, and bring their ideas to life. The creativity this week reminded us that even the smallest minds can dream up BIG innovations. 💙
