Behind every great clinical education experience is a network of dedicated healthcare professionals willing to share their knowledge, experience and time with the next generation of providers.

Meet Ashley Houser, MPA, PA-C, an Emergency Medicine PA and longtime clinical preceptor for the South University, Richmond Physician Assistant (PA) Program.

For nearly three years, Ashley has supported our students through guest lectures, procedural skills labs and hands-on clinical education, helping bridge the gap between the classroom and patient care.

"I love being a preceptor because it lets me give back to future providers the same way so many mentors invested their time, knowledge, and expertise in me along the way. It’s also a great reminder that you never truly stop being a student. Teaching keeps me sharp, pushing me to stay current on the latest guidelines and recommendations, and more often than not, I end up learning something from my students, too."

We’re grateful to Ashley and the many healthcare professionals who invest in our students and help prepare them for the profession ahead. 💙
