Dear CDCW Families,

Today we are sharing some very bittersweet news. After 23 incredible years at CDCW, Ms. Donna will be retiring, with her last day as the Jungle Lead Teacher this Thursday, August 20th.

It is hard to put into words what Donna has meant to CDCW over the last 23 years. She has been so much more than an incredible Lead Teacher. She has been a mentor to countless new teachers, a leader of our Morale Committee, a Book Club leader, a bus driver, a trusted friend and coworker, and someone who has helped shape CDCW in so many ways.

Anyone who has ever worked with Donna knows that her classroom ran like a well-oiled machine! She set high expectations, loved her children deeply, supported the people around her, and brought an incredible amount of experience, consistency, and heart to CDCW every single day. More than 500 children have been lucky enough to call Ms. Donna their teacher, and the impact she has had on those children, their families, and generations of CDCW teachers is pretty incredible to think about!

While we are going to miss having Ms. Donna here every day more than we can say, we are also SO excited for her. With two new grandbabies arriving this year (and one that was born over the weekend- see the attached picture!), I can’t think of a better reason to begin this next chapter and have a little more time for the people she loves most.
And thankfully, this isn’t really goodbye. We fully expect to still see Donna at Book Club, CDCW events, and plenty of other things along the way. After 23 years, you don’t just leave CDCW; Donna will always be a part of our CDCW family and a very important part of our story.

Please join me in celebrating Ms. Donna, thanking her for 23 years of love and dedication, and wishing her all the happiness in the world in this next chapter.

Water play all day😎

Sometimes the richest learning looks like play. Buckets, colanders, pots, and running water became tools for investigation as the children explored how water could be carried, redirected, slowed, and released. Their curiosity led every moment. 🌊

Our Junior Kindergarteners have graduated! 🎓🌻
What a joyful day celebrating this incredible group and all of the growth, memories, and milestones that filled their year at CDCW.

At CDCW, love grows daily through meaningful relationships, joyful learning, and the little moments that become lifelong memories. Watching these children grow in confidence, curiosity, kindness, and independence has been such a gift.

We are endlessly proud of each and every one of them and cannot wait to see all the amazing things ahead in Kindergarten and beyond.
