What a fun evening we had at Hot Dogs Under the Steeple! Perfect weather, yummy treats, bounce houses, corn hole, bubbles, and great friends. Thank you Pastor Adam and Pastor Hannah.

Our first ever Family Fun Night was "Snow Much Fun"! We created ice cream snowmen, played in the snow and bounce houses, pretended to be snow people at our photo booth, had a snowball toss, created snowflake necklaces, made a KIDs family mural and had a visit from Jonathan Austin the magician. Thanks to everyone who came out for this fun event.

Happy Global School Play Day!!! Help us celebrate by unplugging and joining your children in a day of unstructured play. We believe in building strength through gross motor activities and play that lead to success in fine motor skills like writing and drawing. Preschool children are naturally creative and curious. We have been busy elves this week. We are exploring the holiday season in so many fun ways. We are making special surprises and practicing our Christmas program. Gingerbread men, candy cane experiments and lots of sensory play fill our days as we learn about the true meaning of Christmas. We look forward to sharing our Christmas spirit with our awesome families on Friday, Dec. 16!!

This week, we explored the letters G and C. We created gingerbread men with playdough and art materials, conducted science experiments with candy canes, played together in cupcake parties and a gift-wrapping station and practiced our upcoming Christmas program throughout the week.

Thanksgiving at KIDS in Discovery involves exploring the letter T through play, sensory, music, and art. In music, we used turkeys to play a body movement game. We enjoyed our Thanksgiving Feasts this week. Thank you to all our families for contributing to the celebration! We are thankful for you and wish you all a joyous Thanksgiving holiday! Working together and making connections is an important part of learning about the world around us.

F is for Firefighter! Thank you to the firefighters of Fire Station 13 for spending time with us this week. We learned a lot about fire safety and all the equipment the firefighters use to keep us (and them) safe! We continued the fire safety theme through play, sensory activities and art throughout the week. See our adventures below.

Fall is in the air at KIDS. We are having fun exploring pumpkins through sensory, art, stories, science, math, and play! We met Pastor Hannah at Special Moments and visited the Pumpkin Patch.

Fall is in the air at KIDS in Discovery! This week, we played with apples and the letter S. Lots of apple exploration, spiders and sensory experiences created a lot of fun times in class!

Thank you to our families who came to cheer us on during our extended annual Trike-a-thon this year (thanks to Ian). We had a great time learning about bike safety and, most of all, riding trikes with Henrico County police officers! 🚴‍♀️🚴

This week, we played with shapes, colors, streamers, and apples! We are making friends and working together to create amazing things!

The end of our year also brought lots of smiles at our Picnic and Popsicles (when the weather cooperated). We couldn't post all of the love - we enjoyed spending time with our awesome families. Happy Summer!!!

As our year comes to a close, we are reviewing what we have learned this year and looking forward to spending time in the sand at the ocean. This week, we played in sand and water, played games reviewing our alphabet and made some amazing process art! Come explore with us! 😎🌴🌞🐠
