Help us celebrate Mrs. Darci Stone, who has been honored with the Innovative Teacher Award from the Greater Richmond Area Educational Technology Consortium (GRAETC) for her outstanding work in reading instruction.
Mrs. Stone doesn’t just teach reading; she creatively integrates technology to design engaging and meaningful learning experiences. Her 3rd graders are growing as critical thinkers, creative thinkers, and collaborators as they explore digital texts and tackle interactive literacy challenges.
We are so lucky to have “stone-cold”brilliant educators like Mrs. Stone leading our Trailblazers toward a future full of knowledge. 🏆📚

Happy National Assistant Principals Week! We’re giving a big shout‑out to Mrs. Demas, who brings energy, joy, and so much heart to Twin Hickory every single day. She helps create a school environment where students feel valued, supported, and truly loved, empowering our THES Trailblazers to grow and succeed. Mrs. Demas helps make THES a place where learning is engaging, connections are strong, and kindness leads the way every day. When communication is rooted in LOVE, our Trailblazers shine. Students didn’t just show their work, they shared their thinking, reflected on their growth, and confidently led conversations with their families. Our Trailblazers took a deep dive into the powerful storytelling of .reynolds.author.project. It is so inspiring to see our students use Critical Thinking to explore the layers of complex characters.
A huge shoutout to the amazing Mrs. Linham for her teaching innovation. She is a master at designing student-centered experiences that can transform a reading assignment into a meaningful exploration of Character and empathy. By using Creative Thinking and Collaboration to analyze shifting values and personal growth, she helps our students build the LifeReady skills they need to navigate the world with Communication and heart. 💜

Mrs. Wells’ 3rd-grade Trailblazers just turned math into a full-body mission! By walking the perimeter and calculating the area of giant shapes taped to the floor, her students used Critical Thinking to solve problems and Creative Thinking to visualize dimensions in a whole new way.
We adore our amazing teachers who use bold innovation to make a meaningful impact on learning. When test time hits, these Trailblazers will remember exactly how those measurements felt underfoot!
Our Trailblazers truly understand what it means to say, “I Belong!” This year’s Reflections theme gave our students the perfect stage to showcase their Creative Thinking and Communication skills. We are so proud of Thaaragai, Aakrithi, Karthik, Harmony, Kavin, Ella, Angela, Reuben, Hudson, Vysavi, Clark, Zephan, Nylah, Suyog, Avyukth, Diya, Zachary, and Zoe for sharing their unique voices through the arts. Their amazing work shows the world class Character we love to see at THES. We give so much credit to our incredible THES PTA for their tireless dedication in bringing this program to our school and supporting our students’ artistic journeys. A huge shoutout to our amazing teachers like Mr. Adair, Ms. Linham, Ms. Bew, and so many others who guide our Trailblazers to reach for the stars every day. A huge Trailblazer shoutout to Officer Daly! We are so incredibly grateful for his role as a community builder at THES. Officer Daly helps our students understand the true meaning of Citizenship- showing them how to care for their community and be positive participants in the world around them. It takes a dedicated team of administrators, amazing teachers, and our supportive Trailblazer Families to help our students grow into LifeReady learners. We love seeing Officer Daly in our halls, modeling the character and heart that make our school so special! 💜
