Explore college life at Rowan’s 2 week, pre-college, summer program for 7th-12th grade students.

STEAM Academy's programs give students a taste of college life and helps better prepare them for their future. The residential program on Rowan’s main Glassboro campus was designed to help students not only earn three college credits, but also explore careers in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics. Students gain valuable insight and tools that will enable them to become more structured and better prepared for their final high school years and overall educational goals.

One more final congratulations to all of our STEAM scholars in the navigators and pathfinders program. You came, you studied, you made new friends, and you earned college credits! We can’t wait to see you next year and if you’re off to college consider coming to Rowan University, we’ll be waiting with open arms 🤎💛

What an incredible two weeks of learning, creating, exploring, and growing. We are so proud of all you have accomplished and cannot wait to see where your journey takes you next. We hope to see you next summer!

Yesterday, our Voyagers explored Earth Science by making slime to model glacial movement, then switched gears in Biology where they extracted DNA from strawberries, and even their own cheek cells!

Our Engineering students are hard at work designing and building their own products, while our Filmmaking students have moved from planning to production and are now filming their projects.

We wrapped up the day with a visit from Schreiber Pet Therapy, giving everyone some much-needed time to relax, recharge, and enjoy plenty of furry snuggles after a busy day of learning.

We put the books down for the weekend so our residential students could have a little fun!

Friday night we kicked things off with dinner at Chickie’s & Pete’s. Saturday was full of fun with a trip to Funplex, where students enjoyed the indoor attractions and cooled off at the outdoor water park before ending the day with dinner at LaScala’s!

Today, they wrapped up the weekend with a trip to the Ritz Theatre Company to see Grease.

We’re ready for another great week of learning and studying at STEAM Academy!

After a week filled with academic rigor, our residential students enjoyed some well-earned downtime with a dinner out at Chickie’s & Pete’s! Shout out to our residential counselors, Erica and Jameel who accompanied the students on this trip!

Our high school filmmakers continued developing their production skills, students put their teamwork to the test during another Leadership Development challenge, and our middle school scientists explored plant cells under the microscope, investigated the layers of rocks, and created Earth layer models to bring their learning to life. High schoolers ended their day with a laser light show at the Rowan University Edelman Planetarium

Another exciting day at STEAM Academy! 🚀

Our high school engineering students designed, built, and launched bottle rockets, while our Voyagers put their teamwork to the test during a challenge in their Leadership Development workshop. They also made some incredible discoveries in biology by dissecting owl pellets! 🔬🦉

A little glimpse into Day ✌🏽!

After breakfast, our Filmmaking students got hands-on behind the camera while our Voyagers continued creating artwork inspired by Romero Britto. In Biology, students studied animal behavior with pill bugs, and in Earth Science they explored rock formation by creating colorful sand art.

Our Navigators kicked off Leadership Development with a lively game of rock, paper, scissors before heading out on an official campus tour, where they heard from current college students and got an inside look at college life.
