Education happens in classrooms, laboratories and sometimes even right outside our doors!
A recent story by student journalist Maddie Rosenberg highlights the Rowan University Arboretum & Gardens and the ways it supports learning, research and community engagement across campus.
From native species and pollinator habitats to trees that predate the United States itself, the Arboretum continues to serve as a living laboratory. Thank you to our student storytellers for helping share the impact of this unique campus resource!

The 2026 Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) is officially underway!
SURP students recently gathered for one of the program's first cohort socials, connecting with fellow researchers, faculty mentors, and peers from across the College of Science & Mathematics and the School of Earth & Environment.
Throughout the summer, students will work alongside faculty on research projects spanning biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, psychology, environmental science, geology, and more. In addition to their research, participants will take part in professional development opportunities, community-building events, and a culminating poster symposium.
We can't wait to follow their research journey this summer and celebrate their work at the SURP Poster Symposium later this year. ππ¬

π Congratulations to Psychology graduate Czaria Williams!
As she prepares to begin a master's degree in School Psychology, Czaria is reflecting on what made her Rowan experience meaningful.
"The most rewarding part of my Rowan experience was the community and genuine friendships I was able to build through joining student organizations on campus while also furthering my education."
Her advice for incoming students?
"Do not limit yourself. Be open to trying a new experience or speaking to someone you don't know because you never know where it could lead you."
Congratulations, Czaria, and best wishes as you begin this exciting next chapter!
As a bonus, Czaria was also selected as the winner of this year's College of Science & Mathematics and School of Earth & Environment Senior Exit Survey raffle and received a Rowan diploma frame.
