The Bullock Children’s Garden and Thomas E. Bowe School gardens are now run by the Glassboro Child Development Center, and are no longer affiliated with The Bullock Garden Project, Inc..
Although I started the garden at Bullock, it’s important for the individual schools to make these decisions. I’m sad these gardens are no longer led by the teachers and children, but it’s important that these gardens still exist. With my spine issues & surgery & leaving Bullock in 2019, I was unable to be actively involved, and these programs needed to continue.
I only hope the value of having the gardens to produce food for the community remains the focus. These were established to help reduce food insecurity while providing a natural learning space for children.
Thank you to everyone who supported this idea and the children. I’m forever grateful!
