A look back at yesterday’s groundbreaking for Speculative Building #3 at South Cooper Industrial Park! 📸

We were proud to bring together local leaders, our Board of Directors, project partners, and community members to celebrate another step forward for economic development in Barren County.

Projects like this are about being prepared for what comes next. By investing in speed-to-market industrial space, we’re positioning Barren County to compete for new investment and future job opportunities.

Thank you to Barren County Government, the City of Glasgow, Scott, Murphy & Daniel, The Murphy Construction Group, our Board of Directors, and everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone.

We’re excited to watch Spec Building #3 take shape and continue building opportunities for Barren County!

Today, we officially broke ground on Speculative Building #3 at South Cooper Industrial Park!

This 60,000-square-foot facility, with the ability to expand up to 240,000 square feet, represents another step forward in preparing Barren County for future investment, job creation, and continued economic growth.

Speculative buildings allow us to be ready when opportunity arrives by providing quality industrial space and helping Barren County remain competitive for companies looking for their next location.

We are grateful for the partnership of Barren County Government, the City of Glasgow, Scott, Murphy & Daniel, The Murphy Construction Group, our BCEA Board of Directors, and everyone who has played a role in moving this project forward.

Today, we broke ground. Next, we look forward to the day we welcome a new company to call this building home.

Congratulations to Calvert & Nunn Insurance on their new signage!

We’re excited to see another local business take advantage of the BCEA Sign Scholarship Program and invest in their presence here in Barren County.

A strong business community starts with businesses that continue to invest in the places they call home, and we’re proud to support projects like this throughout our community.

Thank you to German American Bank for making this program possible and helping us support local businesses across Barren County.

Congratulations again to Calvert & Nunn Insurance!

What an incredible couple of days at the 2026 Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC) Conference!

From exploring the future of economic development and the state of the American South to learning about emerging opportunities like the space economy, SEDC gave us plenty of new ideas and perspectives to bring back home.

Throughout the conference, we heard from economic development professionals and leaders from across the South about what communities and metros are doing to grow, attract investment, and stay competitive. We were especially proud to hear from Kentucky’s own Secretary Jeff Noel of the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development!

We also loved having our new Economic Development Coordinator, Elaine Ross, join us for the experience. Between the sessions, conversations, and networking, it was a great opportunity to build connections and learn from others doing this work across the region.

We’re heading back to Barren County energized, inspired, and ready to put what we learned to work for our community!
