Now THAT’S how you kick off a school year!

It's good to be back together. Huge shoutout to our PTO for putting so much time, energy and heart into making it happen. ❤️

There’s a lot to learn during the first FULL week of school. And we don’t just mean the students.

Intake Conferences are giving us a head start, with families sharing what they know and love about their kids. And then we get to spend our days getting to know them, too. Who jumps right in. Who needs a little more time. What makes them laugh, what makes them curious, and what helps them feel at home.

Before you can really teach a child, you have to get to know them.

Friday at the Carnival, that circle gets a little bigger, with our families getting to know each other, too. So if you see a face you don’t know yet, say hi 👋

Hunter is back at Oakhill, this time in a whole new role! After previously coaching and working as a PE assistant here, he now leads the team behind much of what keeps our campus running. Whether it’s a repair, a room setup, or one of the countless details most of us never see, Hunter is ready to jump in and get it done.

Help us welcome Hunter back to Oakhill! 🐾

Day 2 at Oakhill looked a little like this: lots of movement, plenty of laughter, and everyone joining in.

It didn’t take long for the room to find its rhythm.

Our Student Success Team is growing! Julie joins Oakhill as our dedicated South Building Learning Specialist after spending the past two summers tutoring and getting to know many of our students and families.

With a background spanning education, school counseling, literacy intervention, dyslexia support, and structured literacy, Julie brings both deep expertise and a simple goal: help students grow with confidence.

And there's an Oakhill connection we love: several members of our faculty are actually Julie's former students. Now, she gets to call them colleagues! ❤️

Success won't look exactly the same for every student, and that's the point. We're excited to have Julie helping each learner discover what success can look like for them.

Welcome to Oakhill, Julie!

And just like that, we're back!

The backpacks made it to classrooms, first-day pictures were taken, friends found each other, teachers welcomed students back, PTO greeted families, and Oakhill was full again.

There was plenty of excitement this morning (and maybe a few first-day nerves), but mostly there were a lot of people who were really happy to see one another.

Thank you to our families, faculty, staff, and PTO for making the first morning such a great one. It was a very good day to be a Panther!

Here's to a great year ahead. 💚

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀 | 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗻

There's something pretty special about Kindergarten. Laura Roberts would know because it's exactly where she loves to be!

Laura joins Oakhill with 10 years of Early Childhood experience, including five years teaching Kindergarten. She holds degrees in Early Childhood Education and Education and has worked with children from Toddler through Kindergarten.

What draws Laura to this age isn't simply what Kindergarteners learn but who they're beginning to become.

She's passionate about building strong relationships and helping students develop confidence, curiosity, and an optimistic outlook on everything that lies ahead.

We can't wait to see where Laura and our Kindergarteners go from here. Welcome to Oakhill, Laura!

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗺 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗲𝗿 | 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿

Relational. High energy. Positive. Organized.

Those are just a few of the words that came up again and again when we talked with Pam Bruner’s references, and they give you a pretty good picture of what she’ll bring to our 4th Grade classroom!

Pam comes to Oakhill with experience teaching 3rd Grade, Kindergarten, and K–5 PE, along with a master’s degree in Elementary Education. Across those different roles, one thing has remained important to her: creating strong relationships where students feel known and supported.

Having worked in a private school setting, Pam understands that a great school experience is a partnership between students, families, and teachers. She’s excited to bring that collaborative, team-first approach to Oakhill.

Outside of school, Pam loves coaching varsity basketball, working out, spending time with her family, and, believe it or not, cleaning and organizing makes her list of things she genuinely enjoys.

As Pam begins this next chapter, we’re excited to see the relationships, teamwork, and sense of belonging that take shape in her classroom over the next 169 days.

Help us give Pam a warm Oakhill welcome!

𝟭𝟲𝟵 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.

The rooms are taking shape. Names are going on doors. New classroom materials are finding their places. Bulletin boards are going up. And all across our campus, there’s a lot happening before the first student walks through the door.

Come take a peek behind the scenes.

These are some of the moments that happen before a new school year begins. There’s unpacking, organizing, decorating, planning and hundreds of little details that help get our school ready for the year ahead.

There are 169 school days to look forward to in 2026–27.

169 days to learn something new. To ask questions. To build confidence. To find your people. To try again. To laugh together. To grow.

Before any of that happens, though, there are people preparing the places where it all begins.

We’re almost ready, and we can’t wait to see you! 💛 Here’s to the 169 days ahead.
