Stop by for K–12 immunizations, vision and hearing screenings, fresh produce, meal application assistance, Medicaid enrollment support, the Book Bus, a Kid Zone and more!

RSVP is not required to attend but is strongly recommended for families interested in specific services.

Reminders:
- You do not have to be approved for the meal program to win a gift card.
- The Giveaway closes on October 2, 2026.
- Four winners will be selected at random.
- Applications that have already been submitted after July 1, 2026 are automatically entered into this giveaway.
- A NEW application must be submitted every year (after July 1st).
- The "grace period" ends on October 7, 2026. This means there's a temporary meal status that rolls over from the previous year until October 7th. The grace period gives guardians time to complete an application for the current school year.

With Election Day tomorrow, we’ve received several questions about Amendment 5 specifically, and what it could mean for public schools.

🔹 Amendment 5 would gradually eliminate Missouri's state income tax and allow lawmakers to expand sales and use taxes to help replace that revenue. Because income taxes provide about two-thirds of the state's budget, including funding for public schools, the proposal could have a major impact on school districts. The only estimates we’ve been given are showing that our district could face a shortfall of more than $31 million each year.

🔸 NKC Schools already needs to reduce our budget by more than $16 million for next school year due to state cuts made this spring, based on the information we currently have. Any additional decreases to state funding would require us to make further difficult decisions about how to reduce our budget.

➡️ Our role is to provide factual information so our community can make informed decisions. We encourage you to learn about the issues on your ballot and make your plan to vote tomorrow, August 4.
