PHHS Varsity Cheer is so appreciative of our sponsors this year. Thank you so much to The House of Stitches and Prints, Bordwine Excavating, The Rednek Rocket Scientist, Abingdon Contracting Services, and Tavern 13! We also would like to thank Dairy Queen at exit 19 and McDonalds at exit 24 for sponsoring some individual cheerleaders this year. And of course, thanks a million times to all the anonymous donors that have given money out of their pocket to help our program succeed. 💙🎉MEET THE PH REBEL CHEERLEADERS! 💙
Freshman Rookie Larken Nelson just joined the Patrick Henry High School cheer team this year. She was born in Washington, VA. When Larken isn't cheering, she likes to enjoy the great outdoors. Her favorite food is spaghetti and her favorite color is purple. Larken wants to get a job and go to college when she graduates high school and her favorite song right now is “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars. She wants everyone to know that she loves everything about the cheer team and that they are all her family and always will be! 💙

Freshman Rookie Nyla Bordwine just joined the Patrick Henry High School cheer team this year. She was born in Marion, Va and raised in Emory, VA. Nyla’s favorite things to do are swim, watch movies, play with her dogs, and hang out with friends. She has two Shetland sheepdogs, named Hollie and Parker, and a Siamese cat named Brody. Nyla's favorite food is Mexican food and her favorite color is teal. Her favorite song right now is “24K Magic” by Bruno Mars. Nyla's favorite thing about the cheer team is that all the girls support each other and that she really feels like part of a group. 💙

💙🎉MEET THE PH REBEL CHEERLEADERS!
Sophomore Rookie Laken Miller just joined the Patrick Henry High School cheer team this year. She was born in Abingdon, VA and raised in Emory, VA. Laken’s favorite things to do are sports (volleyball, basketball, track, and cheer), musical theater and singing, being with friends, and watching movies. She wants to go to college after high school to become something successful and then she wants to travel the world. Laken’s favorite colors are soft colors, like blues, purples, and yellows. She has a dog named Mogley and a cat named Millie. Laken’s favorite food is ice cream and her favorite songs right now are “Extraordinary Magic” by Ben Rector, “Five Foot Nine” by Tyler Hubbard, “Lovely Day” by Bill Withers, and Harry Styles’ new album. Her favorite thing about the cheer team is how welcoming the team is and how comfortable she always feels. Laken likes that everyone is so kind, helpful, encouraging, and most importantly crazy. She likes how the girls always share their goofy sides together and how they always lean on each other. She feels like cheer is one big family. 💙

Sophomore Rookie Trinity Frye just joined the Patrick Henry High School cheer team this year. She was born and raised in Smyth County, VA. Trinity’s favorite thing to do besides cheer is to go fishing and she really likes to cook. Her favorite food is anything from Texas Roadhouse. Trinity wants to become a labor and delivery nurse or work in the dental field. Her favorite color is green and she has a whole list of pets, including 3 cats, 2 dogs, 2 hamsters, a rabbit, and 6 chickens (but her favorite pets are her orange cat, Phillip, and her dog, Bow). Trinity’s favorite songs right now are “Nothing on You” and “Human” by Cody Johnson. Her favorite thing about the cheer team is how everyone makes her feel welcome and how much fun all the girls have together. Trinity loves her cheer family! 💙

Junior Rookie Briona Justice just joined the Patrick Henry High School cheer team this year. She was born in Abingdon, VA, raised in Coeburn, VA and recently moved to Glade Spring. Briona likes hanging out with her friends and family, and loves playing basketball. Her favorite food is anything spicy. Briona wants to become a counselor and travel after graduation, and she also dreams of playing in the WNBA. Her favorite color is blue and she has a lot of pets, including a cat, a turtle, and five dogs. Briona’s favorite song right now is “Peter Pan” by Kelsea Ballerini. Her favorite thing about the cheer team is the support she receives from all the girls, how hard everyone works, and how all the girls have each other’s backs. 💙

Junior Rookie Allysa Barr just joined the Patrick Henry High School cheer team this year. She was born in Abingdon, VA, raised in Whitetop, VA and recently moved to Glade Spring. Allysa likes to hang out with her friends and make memories. Her favorite food is Mexican food. Allysa wants to become a nuclear pharmacist. Her favorite color is royal blue and her favorite thing about the cheer team is the environment and the people. She also likes the energy the girls receive from each other and the fact that they all work really well together. 💙
