Back to School night is next Tuesday, 8/21/18 from 6pm to 7:30pm.
Parents are encouraged to attend and meet their child's new teacher. A Glen View Parent Club sign up sheet will be available in every classroom.

Hello Glen View Families! Storybook character day and the Harvest Festival are this THURSDAY!!! Can't wait to see everyone for both of these activities!! Also a reminder, there is no school on Friday!

Glen View will host its annual Harvest Festival in October. The event is open to the public and tickets are only .50 cents. Join us from 4-7pm on Thursday October 29th for food, games, pony rides and a haunted house.

REMINDER: Harvest Festival planning meeting is tomorrow October 1st at 6:00 pm! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year!! Come help make it the best!

Lots of things starting up as we start this new school year. A few highlights:

- We will be collecting box tops this year. You can send them in with your student, each teacher will collect and turn into parent club.

- We are starting planning for the annual harvest festival. The first planning meeting is Thursday October 1st at 6 pm!!! Open to everyone, the more the merrier.

- We will be having our first book fair the week of October 26th, volunteers needed!!! Please message here or email at [email protected] with your availability.

Welcome back letter from our Principal

Dear Glen View Families,
Welcome all of you to our new school year! School starts for all students on Tuesday, August 18th at 8:00. As school begins, it is important that we take a few steps to make sure school starts smoothly:
Please arrive 15 -20 minutes early for the first few days. Due to limited parking, please walk your child to school if possible.
If you are dropping off or picking up a 1st – 5th grader by car, please do so at the loading zone at the Princevalle Street school entrance. Please enter from the south side of Princevalle (10th Street) and turn right into the school parking lot. Staff will be on hand to direct where you should drop off your student. For the safety of all, please use crosswalks for crossing at all times. Please turn right when exiting the parking lot.
Kindergarten students and students in Room 2 should be dropped off and picked up from the 9th Street parking area.
Kindergarten Orientation will be held on Monday, August 17th at 5:45 beginning in the Multipurpose Room. Students – Teacher assignments will be distributed on that evening. Please enter from the 9th Street entrance.
1st – 5th grade students may visit our front office window throughout the weekend and Monday to find out which class they will be in this year.

¡Bienvenidas al nuevo año escolar!
Clases empiezan para todos los niños el martes, 18 de agosto a las 8:00.
Para empezar el año con éxito y seguridad, es importante seguir algunos procedimientos importantes.
Favor de llegar 15-20 minutos temprano durante los primeros días. Tenemos espacios limitados para estacionamiento así que les pedimos que encamine a sus hijos a la escuela si es posible.
Para traer niños en auto, por favor use la zona de bajada y subida por la entrada en la Calle Princevalle y entre por el lado sur de la calle (Calle 10) para voltear a la derecha. Por seguridad de todos, por favor utilicen los cruceros de peatones. Los supervisores de patios de recreo estarán a la mano para dirigirles, por favor sigan sus instrucciones para que haya buen flujo de tráfico
La entrada para el jardín de niños y estudiantes del salón 2 será por la Calle 9 como es normal.
La orientación para el jardín de niños será el lunes, 17 de agosto a las 5:45. Recibirá el nombre del maestro y el número del salón. Favor de entrar al salón de multiuso por la entrada en la calle 9.
Durante este fin de semana y el lunes, los estudiantes en los grados 1ero a 5to pueden asomarse en la ventana de la oficina para ver en cual clase irán a estar este año.
