From filament to possibilities! 💙

Our Toddler Mobility Trainer project is officially underway at Area 59, and today we had some very special visitors!

The family of the little boy we're building this for stopped by to see our 3D printer in action and get a firsthand look at how his new mobility trainer is coming to life.

And there's already something to celebrate: our very first piece is finished!

That bright blue component is the seat center — just one of many pieces that will eventually come together to create a mobility trainer designed to help this little guy explore his world with greater independence.

Through MakeGood Assistive Design and our collaboration with Rehab Solutions Physical Therapy, we're putting our makerspace technology to work in a way that truly matters.

We can't wait to see this project come together, piece by piece!

🇺🇸 Veterans creating, connecting, and sharing their skills at Area 59!

We enjoyed another Veterans' Meetup this morning! From working with our laser equipment to creating custom challenge coins, it's always exciting to see what our veterans bring to the table.

These meetups aren't just about making things. They're about camaraderie, creativity, learning new skills, and having a place where veterans can connect with one another.

We're proud to provide a space where those who have served can continue to explore, create, and share their experiences.

And so it begins! ❤️

The FIRST piece of our Toddler Mobility Trainer is printing RIGHT NOW at Area 59!

We've been busy reviewing plans, gathering materials, selecting colors, and getting everything ready for this special MakeGood project.

Now our 3D printer is officially putting those plans into motion!

There are a whole lot of pieces to print and assemble before we're finished, but every project starts somewhere.

We can't wait to share the progress with you—and we're even more excited for the day we get to put this into the hands of the family and their little one!

Sometimes the things we make are so much more than things. ❤️

This is what we'll be making at Area 59! ❤️

We're getting ready to put our 3D printers to work on something extra special—a Toddler Mobility Trainer (TMT) for a little one right here in our community!

Through the MakeGood initiative, we're using our technology and makerspace resources to help create something that could make a real difference in a child's life.

We can't wait to see all the pieces come together, but what we're looking forward to most is sharing the finished project with the family—and especially the little one who will get to use it!

Fall Freeze preparations are underway at Area 59! 🍂

The Gillette College Industry Safety Training team is here today, putting our lasers to work creating custom dog tags and engraved tumblers for the event.

We love helping our campus colleagues bring their ideas to life—and these are looking sharp! 😎

The materials are here—and tomorrow, we start printing! 💙🛠️

Area 59 is preparing to make our first Toddler Mobility Trainer (TMT) for a local family through MakeGood. With the filament and parts kit now in hand, we’re ready to begin turning rolls of plastic into something with a purpose: helping a child explore and move more independently.

A special thank-you to Jamie Hendryx with Rehab Solutions for connecting us with the family and helping them request their trainer through MakeGood.

We’ll share updates as we print the pieces, assemble the trainer, and work toward getting it ready for its young rider. Follow along—this is a project we’re excited to bring to life! 💙

🕸️ A little spooky, a little sparkly, and a whole lot of creativity!

Our Stained Glass Spider Web MakerClass brought some Halloween spirit to Area 59 today!

Participants learned stained glass techniques while creating their own colorful spider webs. Each one turned out a little different, and we love seeing everyone's creativity shine through!
