Nancina and her staff have received numerous accolades and choreography awards for their work in regional and national competitions, and SDNJ has been recognized as a studio that focuses on technical excellence. Movement, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Pointe, and Tap, Starstruck Dance provides endless opportunities for all ages and all skill levels. The Starstruck program aims to foster each dancer’s personal growth, and applauds good sportsmanship, respect, and support of peers. Our teachers have a rare combination of professional careers and college educations in dance, and the SDNJ staff takes pride in sharing their knowledge, experience, and love of dance to mold individuals who develop an equally powerful passion for their art.

From SDNJ dancer, to Division I Dance Captain, to professional NBA dancer... we couldn’t be more proud of our very own Miss Caia!

For over 15 years, we’ve had the privilege of teaching, training, coaching, and watching you grow—from the tiny dancer who first walked through our doors, into the incredible dancer, leader, and young woman you are today.

From recitals, to competitions, to college dance, to teaching and chasing your dream of dancing professionally, watching your dedication shine through every chapter fills us with pride. As one of our staff members, we also had the unique privilege of watching you stay late in the studio, perfecting audition choreography, filming audition videos, and continuing to raise the bar for yourself... something that felt so nostalgic to us as your teachers. Seeing your journey come full circle is something we’ll cherish forever.

This moment is the result of your passion, resilience, perseverance, and years of unwavering hard work—and no one deserves it more. Congratulations, Miss Caia! We can’t wait to cheer you on all season long. Your SDNJ family will always be in your corner. 💜

🌟 Senior Spotlight! 🌟

We’re so excited to celebrate Natalie, a graduating senior who has been part of SDNJ for 15 years! She will be attending the University of Tampa this fall!

Reflecting on her time at Starstruck, Natalie shared, “Some of my favorite memories I’ve made at Starstruck are those late nights in the studio where we just get lost in laughter over reminiscing about old dances or funny memories and everyone is sharing in the fun and enjoying our time together.”

Dance has become part of who she is. She shared, “Dance has helped shape my life because it truly is my life. I don’t know who I am without dance and this family that Starstruck has brought to me. Everything that I learn in the studio is reflected into my outside life and I carry myself with the confidence I found from dance.”
Looking back, she hopes younger dancers will “really cherish the small moments. No matter how hard it gets, you will be so proud of yourself in the end knowing you pushed yourself to do what you may have never thought you could.”

She also shared, “An important lesson that I’ve learned from being a part of this family is that it is okay to fail and failure is good. There have been so many times that I have failed in some way but the people around me never fail to make sure I know I am not judged for doing something wrong and instead it is a good way to learn that you don’t have to be perfect.”

Natalie—The past 15 years tell the story of someone who embraced opportunities, believed in our vision, and experienced tremendous growth along the way. It wasn’t just the length of your journey that made it so meaningful, but the way you made each year count. Your work ethic, resilience, and leadership have left a lasting mark on our program, and we will forever be grateful for the memories and the heart you’ve shared with this family. We are incredibly proud of everything you’ve accomplished and know you’ll continue to shine bright in all you do.

🌟 Senior Spotlight! 🌟

We’re so excited to celebrate Ava, a graduating senior who has been an important part of SDNJ for nearly 10 years! She will be attending Clemson University this fall!

Looking back on her time at Starstruck, Ava shared, “I’ve made so many memories at class everyday with my teachers and friends…some memories that stand out to me are competitions, especially when we have to be there super early or late competition nights where we all watch each other in the wings…the later nights in the studio when we talk about past memories with the teachers and all end up laughing together. As a senior, I also love thinking back to my first year on the team and I got to experience everything for the first time.”

Dance has always been more than just classes and competitions. She shared, “Dance has helped to positively shape my life by always providing a safe place that I could use to forget about anything that was stressing me out. Dance also brought me the most supportive friends that I can be my authentic self with. These long-lasting friends shaped my life as I got to grow up with them. I know that my continuing friendships with them will forever be a reminder of my time as a dancer at Starstruck.”

One of the greatest lessons she has learned is to embrace new opportunities with an open mind. She reflected, “You can never judge a book by its cover. Being open-minded has let me discover new things that I like to participate in or even new things about people to make stronger friendships. I would tell younger dancers to always try new things and branch out in order to take advantage of all your opportunities. Looking back, some of my most memorable moments at Starstruck and in general came from me trying new things.”

Ava, your kindness, dependability, and the way you care for those around you have made you a wonderful teammate and friend. Your commitment, heart, and the memories made have been a special part of our studio throughout the years. We are so proud of all you have accomplished and can’t wait to see everything you will continue to achieve in the journey ahead. Keep shining bright!

🌟 Senior Spotlight! 🌟

We’re so excited to celebrate Laila, a graduating senior who has been an integral part of SDNJ for 14 years! She will be attending James Madison University this fall!

Looking back on her time at SDNJ, Laila shared, “One of my favorite memories has got to be the late night competition talks with my teammates and teachers. I also love our yearly friends-giving and holiday parties with Mr. Tony’s lasagna. Getting to meet your buddy for the first time and spend time with the whole company are definitely some of my core memories that I will cherish forever.”

Dance helped her find confidence and connection. She shared, “As someone who struggled with self-confidence, dance really helped me to step out of my comfort zone and express myself. The people I continued to surround myself with helped me to feel more and more comfortable and I truly feel like myself because of this place.”

Reflecting on everything she’s learned, she shared, “Be proud of every small achievement. Not every accomplishment comes in the form of an award. Growth happens in the small moments, whether it’s getting a new skill, supporting your teammates or simply showing up to classes and giving it your all.” She continued, “Being apart of this program has taught me lessons that extend far beyond the dance world…the value of discipline, perseverance and showing up even on difficult days…that progress comes from consistency and hard work. This program also taught me the importance of teamwork and supporting others. Dance is not just about how you perform individually, it’s about the whole collective performance. Most importantly, it showed me the true meaning of community and how powerful it feels to be surrounded by people who lift you up, encourage you, challenge you and believe in you.”

Laila, after 14 years, it’s hard to imagine the studio without you. You have been part of so many chapters of Starstruck’s story, and your growth and leadership have left a lasting impact. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey and for filling our studio with memories we will always cherish. We’re so proud of you and excited for all that’s ahead. Shine bright, always.

🌟 Senior Spotlight! 🌟

We’re so excited to celebrate Keira, a graduating senior who has been an integral part of SDNJ for nearly 10 years! She will be attending the University of Miami this fall!

Keira shared that the moments she treasures most were about connections: “Whether we are working on choreography with ‘mood lighting’, or talking way past the time classes end about funny memories or future plans…All of the laughs, hard work, and shared stories made me so much closer to the people I am happy to call my second family.”

Dance has helped Keira grow as a performer and a person. She shared, “Dance has a huge impact on my life. It has taught me independence as well as the value of working on a team. It has taught me discipline that has helped me in so many different aspects of my life. Most importantly dance has given me a way to express myself, to tell stories, and to connect with so many different people.”

Throughout her journey, Keira learned to appreciate every step along the way. She reflected, “Those little moments, the ones where we are standing in a circle before going on stage, the ones where you nail a skill you’ve been working on for months, or the moments where you look out at the last row of people in the audience, those are the moments that stick with you. All those little moments throughout your life shape who you are as a person, they add up over time creating the growth you see at the end of the year. The little moments are the 1% better everyday that make you a completely different dancer year after year. Cherish every single one of those moments and try to stay present... soon enough you’ll look into the audience one last time for your final bow.”

Keira, your ability to embrace every challenge, celebrate each small victory, and appreciate the little moments has made such an impact on our dance family. Your care, dedication, and leadership have made you a role model to so many, and we are so proud of all you have accomplished and the example you have set throughout your journey with us. We know your kindness and compassion will continue to touch the lives of those around you in this next chapter- Shine bright, always.

🌟 Senior Spotlight! 🌟

We’re so excited to celebrate Millie, a graduating senior who has been a valued member of our company for the past five years! She will be attending the University of California San Diego this fall!

Looking back on her time at SDNJ, Millie cherishes the traditions that brought everyone together. She shared, “The highlights that immediately come to mind are all of the times when the whole studio came together for spirit weeks. I always looked forward to our traditions like holiday snowball fights and making halloween dances because they were always so much fun and great team bonding. BIG shoutout for friendsgiving, especially my last one, because it happened to fall on my birthday and I loved getting to celebrate with all of my favorite people.”

Dance has taught her far more than technique. She shared, “Dance has taught me everything from pointing my toes to valuable life skills, but most importantly, it has brought me my best friends and second family. I will always cherish the laughs (and cries) we have had together and there is no one else I would rather share the stage with. The people here are truly so special and the past 5 years of my life would have been completely different without them. Saying goodbye is hard, but I will always know where to find you :)”

One of the greatest lessons she has learned is to be present for each chapter. She reflected, “My biggest takeaway from my time at Starstruck was learning to embrace every step of the journey. This is so cliche, but being a part of this family reminded me to soak in every moment of senior year because it really does fly by. At the beginning of the year I thought I wanted nothing more than to be done with high school, but now I wish I could relive all those Saturday morning rehearsals and post-comp diner dinners again.”

Millie, over the past five years, we’ve loved watching you grow into a confident young woman who trusts herself, embraces new experiences, and finds joy in the journey. We are proud of all you’ve accomplished, and can’t wait to see where this next chapter leads you. We know you will continue to shine bright in all the adventures ahead!
