Associated General Contractors of Wyoming joined forces with Campbell County High School, Thunder Basin High School, and the Gillette College SkillsUSA chapters to Celebrate the Trades inside the buzzing halls of the Gillette College Technical Education Center.
What unfolded felt like a festival built by the hands of the very students it honored. Games tested everyone’s “skills,” laughter rolled across the shop floors, and the smell of prime rib drifted through the crowd. Tickets earned from the Skills Games became golden chances to win an array of prizes donated by generous sponsors. Many of the auction items were handcrafted by the students themselves — each piece a small testament to the talent being cultivated in these programs.
One of the night’s biggest thrills came from the firearm drawing, where only the person holding the matching card from one of five look‑alike auction items could claim the prize. A gun board, a 50/50 raffle, and a steady stream of friendly competition kept the energy high from start to finish.
Every student involved poured heart and effort into the event, and it showed. They didn’t just host a fundraiser — they created a night that celebrated craftsmanship, community, and the future of the trades.
