This happened. I am a little late to share it. I have been on an internet fast and working on content to share while taking care of life.
I appreciate the people who share the writing in "Dear Beloved Scribe." Blesses those of us who contributed to know our writing is blessing others.
✨ Writer Wednesday! ✨
Today we're going to have a bonus visit fellow sister-scribe Alissa Dedic because I need some extra encouragement today!
Imposter syndrome ... say no more, right? It has a terribly loud voice. It tells us that we will never measure up, we will never be able to keep up, and that we don't belong in the spaces that our Creator has invited us to partner with Him.
How often do you feel like someone else would do so much better in your place - and that one day, everyone else is going to discover it too?
Alissa's words remind me today that I need to stop looking around the room for approval and look instead to the One who placed my gifts, talents, and dreams within me.
The truth is, we don't need another writer or publishing professional to validate our careers. We don't need sales numbers, reviews, followers, a plethora of awards, or a publishing contract to prove that our creative endeavors are valid (even though all of those things are nice). And we certainly don't need to earn our spot in the room of "real writers" by comparing ourselves to others and then attempting to force ourselves into a cookie cutter.
If you have been called to write, create, encourage, teach, lead, and share the stories of your heart, then the question becomes not IF we are "good enough", but instead "am I willing to faithfully use what He has given me to the best of my ability NOW?"
You are not an imposter. I am not an imposter. WE ARE HIS - and His calling and His work will be made perfect in us if we are willing to walk with Him. One tiny step at a time.
