♠️ Cards. Community. Craftsmanship. ♠️

What a fantastic day at the NEWCA Cribbage Tournament! The boards were hot, the competition was friendly (mostly 😉), and the cause could not be better.

🏆 Congratulations to Bill Eliason, our 2026 NEWCA Cribbage Champion!

🥈 A big shoutout to James Stratton for earning 2nd Place!
But here’s the real win…

All tournament profits go directly into scholarship funds for Campbell County students pursuing skilled trades. 🛠️🔧

That means future welders. Electricians. Equipment operators. Builders. The hands that quite literally build our community.

We don’t just play cards.
We deal opportunity.

Thank you to everyone who played, sponsored, donated, and cheered from the sidelines. NEWCA continues to support the next generation of skilled professionals, and we are so proud to be part of it.

🎉🃏 It’s GO time, Gillette! 🃏🎉

The cards are shuffling, the pegs are ready, and we are officially kicking off the NEWCA Peg-A-Palooza!

Today isn’t just about cribbage bragging rights and a little friendly competition… it’s about building futures right here in Campbell County. 💛🔨⚡

Every peg played supports scholarships for local students pursuing careers in the skilled trades. Construction. Manufacturing. Healthcare. Business. The hands-on heroes who quite literally build our community.

That means every point scored today helps a student pick up tools instead of debt. That’s a win no matter who takes home the trophy. 🏆

Thank you to our players, sponsors, and supporters who believe that skilled trades are not a backup plan… they are a first-choice career path.

Let the pegs fly! 🧮🔥

Sam Larson with Powder River Construction was instrumental in putting this class together. The idea started in a NEWCA meeting and Sam made it happen. Thanks to Gillette College for partnering with us to make this class a reality.

NEWCA Hosts Inaugural Cribbage Tournament, Raising Nearly $2,600 for Skilled Trades Students

On Saturday, February 22nd, the Northeast Wyoming Contractors Association (NEWCA), a committee under the umbrella of the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce, hosted its inaugural Cribbage Tournament. The event was a tremendous success, bringing together 32 participants in a friendly yet competitive atmosphere, all in support of a great cause.

Through sponsorships and player entries, the tournament raised almost $2,600 to support Campbell County students pursuing careers in skilled trades. These funds will directly benefit students looking to build their futures in industries that are essential to our community’s growth and success.

The competition was fierce, but in the end, two players emerged victorious:

1st Place: Bob Julius – Winner of $250 in Chamber Gold Bucks

2nd Place: Jim Stratton – Winner of $100 in Chamber Gold Bucks

NEWCA also made a special effort to encourage local senior participation by offering sponsorships. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we were able to cover the entry fees for approximately 11 seniors from Campbell County, allowing them to join in the fun at no cost.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, sponsored, and supported this event. Your contributions make a lasting impact on the future workforce of Campbell County. We look forward to making this tournament an annual tradition and continuing our mission to support skilled trades education in our community!

LP SmartSide is one of the most common types of siding for our area. This is a great article about the benefits of engineered wood siding, and how it's superior to fiber cement siding.

Tim Uhler switched from fiber-cement to SmartSide engineered-wood siding. Here's what he learned.
