In Ms. Stewart’s 4th grade class, students had t save Fred the (gummy) Worm from drowning. They could only use 2 paperclips, gummy worms, a life saver and a cup. They had tp put the lifesaver around the worm and back in the cup using only the paperclips. It was a great STEM teamwork activity! 🖇️🪱📎🤓

As we welcome everyone back to school, we would like to give a special welcome to our new first grade teacher, Ms. Sophia Ruffatto! Please help us in welcoming her to the BGES family!

Ms. Ruffatto is from Carlinville, and she attended Southeast Missouri State University where she earned her Early Childhood Education degree (& add-on certificate in Elementary Education).
This is Ms. Ruffatto’s first year of teaching, and she is excited to join BES!
She has a passion for working with children and growing their love of learning! Ms. Ruffatto says, “I believe part of my purpose in this world is to inspire and uplift young learners, helping them grow into confident, capable individuals.”
She is most looking forward to creating relationships with students and other staff members.
A fun fact she’d like to share: She was the 3rd cutest baby at the Illinois State Fair in 2004!
Her favorite book: The Day the Crayons Quit
She is very excited to be back in the area of her family’s roots!
