๐๐ THE 5TH DAY OF 5TH GRADE! ๐๐
What better way to celebrate being 5th graders than with a day all about learning, teamwork, and getting to know one another?! โค๏ธ๐ค๐ค
We started by reading The Little Linebacker and talking about the difference between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset. Our students worked together to sort different scenarios and decide which mindset each one represented. We learned an important lesson: โI canโt do itโ can become โI canโt do it YET!โ ๐ช๐ฝ๐ง
Next, we took our school-wide theme of TEAMWORK and put it into action! ๐ Ms. Hillโs Dream Team worked in groups to see who could construct the longest paper chain. There was plenty of planning, communicating, problem-solving, and a little friendly competition! ๐ But the biggest lesson was simple: We can accomplish so much more when we work TOGETHER! ๐ค๐ฝ
To make our 5th day of 5th grade even more special, students brought 5 things from home that tell us a little more about who they are. This week has been about more than rules, routines, and academics. Weโve been intentional about building relationships, learning about one another, and becoming a TEAM. โค๏ธ
And whatโs a celebration without a treat?! ๐ Since summer is officially over, we sent it out the right wayโwith a nice, cool POPSICLE PARTY! โ๏ธ๐ง๐
Five days down, and Ms. Hillโs Dream Team is already learning that we may each bring something different to the team, but we are BETTER TOGETHER! ๐โค๏ธ๐ค๐ค
Happy 5th Day of 5th Grade! ๐5๏ธโฃ๐
