An Easter Walk -
This is part of our Easter freebie download. It’s a good way to help explain the story of Jesus death and resurrection to young children.
Read the Easter account from the Jesus Storybook Bible or the pages from our download.
Then head outside with your child for a walk. Help your child find all the items on the list.
The first one is a branch. Remind your child about the palm branches the people waved at Jesus as he entered the city of Jerusalem. Let them wave the branch, feel it… talk about it.
Go in order and find the next item. Talk about what it represents. Read the suggested Bible verses.
The final item is something living. Talk about how Jesus rose from the dead because he is God… that he lives today… and we can have a relationship with him and accept his gift of salvation.
We hope you have a wonderful Easter… remember “He is risen!” “He is risen indeed!”

Let's explore the world "Under the Sea"!

In our next Learning Block we will take a look at crabs, lobsters, jellyfish, sharks, whales, pouting fish, and much more! We will eat a hotdog octopus, graph different colored fishy crackers, make an ocean in a bottle, and of course sing and dance to silly songs. We will be finishing up our letters and numbers and launch into reviewing what we have learned. Our scripture verse this block is from Romans 8:28.
"For we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God."

We know you will enjoy this Learning Block with your little one.

Head over to our website to download and be ready for April.

Easter Sunday is in a couple of weeks. Here are a few ideas to help you, along with your child prepare for this special day!

In our Easter freebie, we have patterns and directions for Easter bunny ears, baby chick art, a Resurrection Walk, and a recipe for Resurrection Buns!
Grab all of them at kidsdiscoveryclub.com in our "more" section under Freebies.

The buns are simple to make... my granddaughter dipped a large marshmallow in melted butter, then rolled it in a cinnamon-sugar mixture. Next, you place one marshmallow in each roll, fold it up and sprinkle with a little more cinnamon sugar on top. Bake according to directions. When you pull the rolls open you will NOT find the marshmallow.... just like Jesus was no longer in the tomb!

“Very early on Sunday morning, just at sunrise, they went to the tomb. On the way, they were asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” But as they arrived, they looked up and saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled aside. When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a white robe sitting on the right side. The women were shocked, but the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He has risen from the dead! Look, this is where they laid his body.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:2-6‬ ‭NLT

What a great way to tell the Easter Story!

Blessings,
Karen & Karen

Our hippopotamus is a fun art project in our Wild Animals Learning Block. My granddaughter had a chance to practice her scissors skills, draw hippo toes, and glue down the eyes. But the part that was the most fun….was adding the teeth! Make sure to lick those mini marshmallow teeth well so they stick in the hippos mouth!
Eating a few of the “hippo teeth” is part of the fun! Then finish the day dancing to the Hula Dancing Hippo song!

Crawling through the jungle…..
In search of a boa constrictor!
We didn’t find any….. so…. We made our own!
Simple with paint, construction paper, a toilet paper tube, bubble wrap and a rubber band.
Band the bubble wrap on the tube and dip in paint. Cover your “snake” from head to tail! Give him some eyes 👀…. But watch out…. You don’t want to get swallowed by him!! Yikes!!!

We are having so much fun this month in our Wild Animals Learning Block. Take a look at

A group of giraffes is called a tower. These amazing animals can be found in the African plains, and they use their long necks to reach leaves on the tops of trees. It’s their long necks which helped give them their group name, as they are so tall they tower over bushes and other animals!

Don’t you love our tower of giraffes? More fun to be found in our Wild Animal Learning Block.

Ice Cream is so yummy!🍦But how is it made?
When you add salt to ice it lowers the melting point of the ice. In order for the ice to melt it needs to pull the heat from somewhere. By shaking the bag of the sugar and heavy cream mixture it pulls the heat from cream. ( which is warmer than the ice). This allows it to quickly freeze turning it into a yummy treat!!
We hope you are having fun and learning a lot by attempting various science experiments…..and in this case a very tasty result!
