Drowning prevention program comes to a halt at the CDC A few years in, a CDC drowning prevention program was ready to share its findings on how to mitigate the leading cause of death among young children. Then the administration terminated that staff.

🔔 School is back in session - but water safety is year-round!

Continue to talk to kids about staying safe around water, such as:

✅ Always ask for permission from an adult to go swimming and never swim alone.

✅ Stay away from where flowing water is or could be, such as canals, ditches, and drains.

✅ If someone is in danger, reach or throw - don't go!
