We love our families!

Recognizing the letters in their name and assembling personalized name puzzles are activities mastered in the 2’s and 3’s classes at Little Learners.

Fine motor development is one of our primary focuses beginning in the 2's class all the way up through pre-k. Strong hands are important! Threading these keys on the rings are a favorite in the 2's and 3's classrooms.

Graphing targets so many math skills at once: categorizing, counting, and comparing quantities. Using favorite items like Hot Wheels cars engages them even more.

Scissor skills take time to gain control and strength. Incorporating it into almost every class sends our students with the capability needed to not need help in a large kindergarten environment.

When students feel confident in their environment they show how wildly capable they can be to be in charge of their learning task!

Young people are meant to MOVE! Gross motor activities and fresh air are necessary and a daily part of our routine. The parachute is always a favorite.

Math abilities are a huge range in pre-k. Thankfully small group learning gives all students a chance to work where they are at the time. This student was building teen numbers using a group of ten and additional ones.

Color mixing lessons are loads more fun with safety goggles, colored vinegar and baking soda! Notice the pipette in his hand? He’s building essential fine motor skills to help with handwriting, coloring and more!

Semester Wrap up in pre-k!

In August we started the year learning about color mixing, tints and shades while exploring the author Peter Reynolds.

September brought excitement over our building unit. Learning about stability, symmetry and balance we explored various materials. We completed STEM bridge building challenges and more.

October and November were all about nocturnal and diurnal animals and the adaptations they have to live their lives. We conducted experiments blindfolded to experience the concept of echolocation. Messy science day was a favorite as the weather permitted extended time outdoors.

December was all about gingerbread men story variations. We compared and contrasted, crafted and created. The day in class we all enjoyed most was family gingerbread house building!

Looking forward to January and the beginning of our biome studies beginning in the desert!
