Today the MEPN and BSN-IH Level 4 students participated in a Community Action on Poverty simulation. Students had the opportunity to have personal experiences as a community member taking on roles like social worker, teacher, families, or business owners. Students had to manage bus passes, personal finances, housing and food vouchers, and personal care of their own families. This gave great insight to what it was like to be an individual living in a state of poverty within the Phoenix area. Here are some highlights of the very real reactions students faced during this simulation. ⏱️ We understand that not everyone comes from similar backgrounds, and this simulation helped provide empathy and understanding for our community members. ❤️
