Anticipate: An Advent Experience 12/11/2015

This Advent season leads us into the celebration of the birth of Christ. Our family has been reviewing the stories of the Old Testament that lead to the birth of Jesus. We have used this devotional and would recommend it for future years, or to simply review the icons (stories) with your child leading up to Christmas. http://www.amazon.com/Anticipate-Experience-House-Nazarene-Publishing-ebook/dp/B00A50QPIG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449874898&sr=8-1&keywords=anticipate+advent+devotional

Anticipate: An Advent Experience This 4-week devotional will guide and prepare the reader for the celebration of Christmas. Anticipate uses Old Testament prophecies to guide families and individuals as they learn to live into the story of God. Every week a new theme will be explored through daily interactive elements, prayers, a...

We tackle the "Mistaken goals of Misbehavior" this Saturday! 5-7pm. Dinner will be served at 5:00! Please let us know if you plan to come! It's not too late to join or bring a friend!

Being Kind and Firm at the same time is really a simple principle. It certainly is much harder to implement than one may think. Try not to confuse your kids, being too firm and then being too kind to compensate. Set limits in kind and firm ways with a little choice on their end, with the result you as the parent wants as the end goal. Does it really matter "how" the goal was met?

Family Meeting 09/23/2015

Making an agreement is hard work!
1. Have a friendly discussion about the problem (when everyone is calm)
2. Brainstorm solutions and agree on one.
3. Decide on the exact time/signal this will happen for future.
4. Know that the agreement will probably not work the first few times, but you keep your end of the agreement. When they object, you simply say something like, "thankyou for keeping our agreement."
